I once held her
In my arms
She said she would always stay
But I was cruel
And I treated her like a fool
I threw it all away
Once I had mountains
In the palm of my hand
And rivers to drink through everyday
But I must have been mad
I never knew what I had
Until I threw it all away

Love is all there is
That makes the world go round
Love as only love
Can't be denied

Not matter what you think about it
Just won't be able to do without it
Take a tip from one who's tried

So when you find someone
Who gives you all of her love
Take it to your heart don't
Let is stray
Cause one thing for certain
You will surely be hurting
If you throw it all away
If you throw it all away

Wow! Elvis is nearly as good as Ryan Adams...Who's that you say? it's  no wonder you don't know who he is   as Ryan is never ever played on Radio Paradise ..
You're like trying too move a mountain Bill.
Love this!
 zesty dylan cover
Nice cover by the master of most everything he has ever done.

So I’m a generally ambivalent to Costello, but I generally associate him with more sophisticated stuff than this.
Someone as prolific as Dylan - for as long as he has been around he keeps me interested

Not much in-betweens

I'd be one of the few inbetweens. Like some of his stuff, others are damned good, but he ain't a be-all end-all to me

It's mind boggling that Elvis Costello, after all the fantastic albums he's released (that routinely get critical acclaim, I might add), finally won his first album Grammy (with the Imposters) in 2020. So everyone out there, you just have to stick with something for 40+ years and it might just pay off!

the wiki article has his first in 1999. Not that the Grammys should hold any real artistic significance. If they did, he would have been recognized by the mid 80s. I'm amazed that he's listed at #80 on Rolling Stone's list of 100 Greatest Artists. He should be higher than that just on the strength of his first 10 years.
