I like to spend some time in Mozambique
The sunny sky is aqua blue
And all the couples dancing cheek to cheek.
It's very nice to stay a week or two
And maybe fall in love just me and you.

There's lots of pretty girls in Mozambique
And plenty time for good romance
And everybody likes to stop and speak
To give the special one you seek a chance
And maybe say hello with just a glance.

Lying next to her by the ocean
Reaching out and touching her hand,
Whispering your secret emotion
Magic in a magical land.

And when it's time for leaving Mozambique,
To say goodbye to sand and sea,
You turn around to take a final peek
And you see why it's so unique to be
Among the lovely people living free
Upon the beach of sunny Mozambique.

We're riding the Bob Dylan Express right now:

"Mr. Tambourine Man" (The Byrds) -> "Buckets of Rain" (Neko Case) -> "Mozambique" (Dylan)

As ick noted 8 months ago: Dylan does do Jimmy Buffett.
Dylan does Jimmy Buffett.
Over the years this has developed as my favorite Dylan album.{#Clap}
 Great track; great record.
I just happened to be reading this letter from Jeff Buckley to Dylan when this song came on, coincidence?

Way too short and upbeat for a Bob Dylan song. But I like it.
This came at the perfect time - huge fight with brother, health issues, priorities... I'm pretty sure I'm okay, and more so with this song.  I still wish I could be... Well, not gonna happen, but I can wish...

Living in Kathmandu, Nepal when this came out. Eating homemade pies and smokin some serious "temple fingers" Great album!

I wonder if Bob listened to Jimmy Buffett just before he made this recording?
One of my favorite Dylan songs - something about that fiddle and Emmylou's backing vocal just makes me grin.  10.
Happy Bob! {#Sunny}
YES!

One of his finest. Love Emmy! There used to be a video on YouTube, but it seems to have been removed.

Five stars!

Well, what do you know! Bob Dylan is almost singing in this one! I didn' know he could do that...

Actually he can't...but still does.
Starts off sounding like "Stuck in the Middle with You".

Oh, I haven't heard this one in years - forgot how much I love it!  Thanks, Bill! {#Dancingbanana}

Yep.

Great song!{#Bananajam}

Really a pleasant song, but completely not the folk music, political change, acidic and subversive Bob.

That's not a bug, it's a feature.  (Your mileage may vary.)

Always liked this album and this song.  Liked the instrumental mix and the female voices.  Dylan showed how he could always keep people guessing.  Never liked being put in a corner about how people thought he should sound.

I actually never liked this album that much or this song. Rare, for me, with Bob.
One of 5 Bobby D songs I truly love.
Bravo on this one.
Maybe because there's the female vibe in tune on this cut, helping drown out Bob.

Mr Robert Allen Zimmerman singer-songwriter, musician, poet and pot smoking painter and major celebrated work first an informal chronicler figurehead and apparently reluctant of social unrest his songs became anthems incorporated lyrics of political, social and philosophical as well as literary most influences though so sadly overplayed in this forum, this piece is admirable . . . 1  {#Arrowu} 4

Current Bob sounds a little like he gargled with drano.

Scarlet Rivera on violin.

Desire is full of spectacularly good songs like this.  Check it out.

Is that a young Emmylou on backup?

Wow. I thought I had heard all the bad Bob Dylan songs. Learn something new every day.

Hopefully the new thing I learn tomorrow will improve my life, unlike today. :(

Dear Bill: Mr. Dylan is a brilliant poet. Please play lots and lots of his songs, SUNG BY OTHER PEOPLE. kthxbye.

Sounds like Jimmy Buffett.  Not that there is anything wrong with that.
