Walk along the river, sweet lullaby, it just keeps on flowing,
It don't worry 'bout where it's going, no, no.
Don't fly, mister blue bird, I'm just walking down the road,
Early morning sunshine tell me all I need to know
You're my blue sky, you're my sunny day.
Lord, you know it makes me high when you turn your love my way,
Turn your love my way, yeah.
Good old Sunday morning, bells are ringing everywhere.
Goin' to Carolina, it won't be long and I'll be there
You're my blue sky, you're my sunny day.
Lord, you know it makes me high when you turn your love my way,
Turn your love my way, yeah.

Set me straight to never accept shitty musicianship.
These guys set the bar high. Real high.
Thanks so much for all the great tunes
How's this band for your first concert??!!! Fell in love with Dickie's guitar and this song -- 1972

Can feel that
Is there a more perfect song to hear on a Friday when you already know that you will be leaving work early to spend time outdoors on a beautiful spring afternoon?
I think not.
Can feel that
Are you sure about that Bill? Duane and Berry both played on Blue Sky. So Dickey couldn't have written it after their deaths. Still, you can play this anytime for me - a straight 10.

Thank you, RP. It's a perfect 10 and uplifting in every way.

Allman Brothers Band perform Blue Sky live on Austin City Limits in 1996.
"If I had to pick a favorite band of all time and I hate to do it because of the love of so many bands I have but I think I would have to go with the Allman Brothers Band. I have been thinking about this recently and if I was forced to chose the greatest band of my liking I would have to go with this group. How can anyone who loves rock & roll not get high on this stuff? I saw Dickie Betts perform with Dan Toler and his brother in Bradenton Florida for free. Dickie Betts showed up and they played Allman Brothers tunes all night long. I want to get all the vinyl of the Allman Brothers Band. This is a historical band. I just love Dickie Betts on guitar. He was a real gentleman when I met him in person." ~KirkSH52
Dickie Betts, man.

All right all right all right, hold it right there Goldsmith. Goldfrapp, then Allman Brothers? I'll have what you're smoking.
Everybody in my mushrooming multitude of churches be dancing buck ass naked all over the world like bowlegged gypsy muleskinners... we love this song soooo much... it tweaks our nipples... love sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll...
thank you...

..nice slideshow for this one..of course, most of those are pretty excellent..yet another reason to say: "Thx RP!"..
Wow,.... I didn't think I could dislike that Fleet Foxes' song anymore than I did, but now in contrast to the Allman Brothers it really puts it into perspective how bad modern rock has gotten.
Thanks Bill for this valuable lesson

Everybody in my church loves this song soooo much!!!!
Oh baby, baby! "You're my blue sky, you're my sunny day." Could there be a sweeter love line?
Nice follow-up to Fleet Foxes.
Harmony's great stuff, when you put it into the lead guitars, rhythm guitars, AND the vocals, then you've achieved awesome.
A 10 just doesn't do this song justice. As I said before; Joy, as expressed on guitar. Beautiful!!
If you ever need a song to lift you up ...THIS IS IT!

That's one of the reasons they were so good in concert back in the day. Take any ABB song and it ends up 5 to 10 minutes longer live !
Uhh, 22? Air guitar nirvana. There's only one problem with this track — it's about 20 minutes too short.

Eat a peach and listen to this song... some of my favorite things.

Awesome, awesome song!
9 -> 10

More '10' votes than any other number. An elite class on RP!
This has got to go down along side Jessica as one of the greatest tracks that ABB has ever made, can never make up my mind what version of this track I prefer this one all the heavier one but at the end of the day ALL tracks that ABB are Amazing, but there again I might be a bit Biased .. Still have 'Brothers and Sisters on Vinyl since buying on release.
Thanks for finally playing this one, Bill. But, of course I missed it. The overall rating hasn't dropped much, now that it's been played. Hope this one will stay in the rotation.

Totally agree, romeotuma. I can be having the crappiest day ever, but if I hear this song, it turns everything around for me and makes me smile.

So many beautiful memories associated with this song, and a beautiful Oregon blue sky at the moment. Perfect.
As a Georgia boy, it doesn't get any better than the day we had in Georgia today and listening to the brothers tonight.
Thanks Bill and Rebecca.... for the music that is, not sure you had much to do with the weather.

Not a big Allman fan, but I seem to prefer the songs Dickie sings on, great song!
The theme song for skipping 6th period, hopping in Cat's beetle and heading to the park for a fat one. Play on, Duane. Amen.
What a great song to celebrate the coming of Spring (at least down here in GA.) After a cold, nasty winter (at least by our standards—I took a bike ride in snow flurries the day after Christmas), today is transcendentally sweet. Walk it around, Dickie. Mighty fine.
This is good.
Favorite song. Love that Dickey on guitar.
Another year has gone by without a play. Why Bill, why?
Please please play it. Duane/Dickey solo defines joy expressed on guitar.
If there was a musical definition of perfection it would be Duane's solo. And yeah, Bill play it!
Can we get a play here? Anyone. Anyone?
Duanes solo a nice nod to Coltrane
