I only recently realized how important Leon was (IS!!) to a lot of the music I like, and sadly his death was when it first clicked in my mind.  He played with the Beach Boys, Bob Dylan, the Stones, Eric Clapton....etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. wow what a great success he IS.  Thanks BillG for spinning his records here...and Long Live RP!!

Oh Leon, we miss you so!  Thank you Sir Elton for bringing him out from obscurity and creating the masterpiece Album "The Union".  Of course Bernie Taupin writes most of the lyrics as per normal Elton stuff, but Leon has a few of his own.  But every DAMN song on the album is so beautiful and touching it brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it!

yeah I dug him in Bangladesh concert, that put him on the big stage.  then he came out with the song about being in love with the roller derby queen. Thought that hilarious and put it on some mixed tapes and got strange looks from friends.  Ah Well it's Leon

'71!  Sue C had a party (we were in 8th grade) and she and the other ladies were ogling over Leon's album portrait, those killer shades and all that Super hair, the guys were all half-inhaling cigarettes and talking about the Mets…Leon was too deep for me at that time but his music is great to experience again (guess I've matured abit)

Well, he seems way out of it these days. And he has put out some serious dreck over the years, but I thought he was a god about this time.

When I first bought this album (yeah, back in the day) it took me awhile to get into it.  Later became one of my prized possessions.  Great to hear it on the RP. For me, this is right up there with the Bloomfield, Kooper & Stills version of the song (yes I know that Dylan guy started it all).
