People can we get together and help each other out
The temperature is rising
Oh the world is filled with so much greed
Can we ask ourselves how much we really need
On and on it never stops oh don't you see
On and on it never stops how much do you really need
Oh how low will you go to get to the top
I hope we never really have find out
Oh how low will you go to get to the top
Can we all try to find some balance

Sometimes I can hardly take it
Oh the world has so much needless suffering
On and on it never stops oh don't you see
On and on it never stops how much do you really need
Oh how low will you go to get to the top
I hope we never really have find out
Oh how low will you go oh to get to the top
Can we all try to find some balance

Let's all fill up with love
Let's all fill up with love
Let's all fill up with love
Let's all fill up with love

Sometimes I can hardly take it
Oh the world has so much needless suffering
On and on it never stops oh don't you see
Let's lift each other up now or just let each other be
Oh how low will you go to get to the top
I hope we never really have find out
Oh how low will you go oh to get to the top
Can we all try to find some balance

The opening riff reminds me of the Dead's "Fire on the Mountain."
I love everything I have heard by this band. The bass lines are great and the production is also really well done.
Not Broken Bells??
The arrangement is very BB and the singer could not sound more like Mercer's BB persona.

My Hubby and I don't think so...set humor filter=off

queer used to mean oddly different, or odd, or different. good or bad? your choice

I would crawl over a mile of broken glass to see the car that delivers pizza to Erica Wennerstrom.

I've only been to, ever, a single "handful" of concerts. I would say, if I could catch a show like that?... Would be SO cool! Great sound, from BOTH!

I think more genuine actual 70's things along this line should be  played. This seems a little plastic and pretend to me.
From the opening I thought this was going to be Michael Martin Murphey's 1975 song "Wildfire".

Hey Bill.  Why no Heartless Bastards tracks off older albums? So much good stuff.  Is this a legal/contract /record company thing?

They've split up with James McMurtry?

Entirely different set of heartless bastards. I was confused at first too. Erika was being interviewed on our local NPR station ahead of a show they were playing and I was like "What?! McMurtry' s band is here, without him, and with some chick who has an incredible and unique voice?" No, I was wrong, but I decided to go to the show anyway and have been a huge fan ever since.
Nice sound, tho the cover is a bit queer.

Fresh music from an artist new to me
Going with a 7 rating on first listen.
