Think of London, a small city
It's dark, dark in the daytime
The people sleep, sleep in the daytime
If they want to, if they want to

[CHORUS]
I'm checking them out
I'm checking them out
I got it figured out
I got it figured out
There's good points and bad points
Find a city
Find myself a city to live in.

There are a lot of rich people in Birmingham
A lot of ghosts in a lot of houses
Look over there!...A dry ice factory
A good place to get some thinking done

Down el Paso way things get pretty spread out
People got no idea where in the world they are
They go up north and come back south
Still got no idea where in the world they are.
Did I forget to mention, to mention Memphis
Home of Elvis and the ancient greeks
Do I smell? I smell home cooking
It's only the river, it's only the river.

Surprised this one hasn't been played here yet considering how great the entire album is - i'll go '8' off the bat and thanks for the inclusion on the Main Mix, BillG!  LLRP!!

GREAT!!!
I was trying to figure out where I'd heard this before.  You know, who are they covering? As often turns out to be the case, it was in the opposite order.  In this case, it was Phish that was covering TH.  (On "Slip, Stitch and Pass," I think.)

Too much Talking Heads.   So many other bands to overplay.

I'd already fallen under the spell of this band, and More Songs About Buildings and Food was on heavy rotation in my record and tape collection, and I remember when the local rock radio station played this clip of David Byrne saying, droll and detached as ever, "Talking Heads have a new album. It's called Fear of Music..." Then they played Life During Wartime. We were all blown away, and glad to have lots of new quirky Byrne lines to blurt out to amaze our friends and shock our parents and teachers. The level of genius and talent within this band was absolutely incredible, and their fearless experimentation and sense of adventure continues to greatly reward and inspire me to this day.

I was introduced to this tune via the slower cover on Phish's Slip Stitch and Pass live album.  I thought--strange for a Phish tune. Then heard the original and it all made sense.
