I don't even know how
Our problems got this bad
Think we need to slow down
It's probably the only chance we've got
I just wanna go back
Start it all again, this time, I'll let you win
It's probably just hopeless
This time

I don't wanna fight another day
I'm tired of all the hurtful games we play
I thought we shared a bond that'd never break
Is it time to walk away?

How'd it go so wrong?
Could we have seen it from the start?
We've been together so long
Have we just naturally grown apart?
I just wanna know that
We tried to make it work before just giving up
Are we just trying
Too hard?

I don't wanna fight another day
I'm tired of all the hurtful games we play
I thought we shared a bond that'd never break
Is it time to walk away?

I don't wanna fight another day
I'm tired of all the hurtful games we play
I thought we shared a bond that'd never break
Is it time to walk away?

This resonates with me. Which is probably a bad sign given that we’ve been together for 33 years…
Pleasant sound, sad lyric.
But then, how often have you wished that life had a rewind button?

ouch. yeah. been there.
nice headphone music in bed going to sleep
cheerful music is at odds with lyrics but making that decision is uplifting, i suppose
I've heard for the last few years this band. It has something special. I'm glad it is getting  recognition on RP.
I discover Washed Out thanks to RP. Many thanks to RP.

Doesn't look like Santorini ... have you been there?

I have not been there, but poking around on Google maps makes it obviously the island of Santorini, the town/villiage of Oia, to be exact.  I can't find the exact building he's standing on in this photo, but it must in the vicinity of this location.  Check it out in 3D mode and you can see the islands in the background if you point south.

Never been there, but sure want to go now.

Eurovision Song festival vibes.

And that´s why I don't like it. It's too synthetic
Boring, sounds like a Modern Talking created BS

This could go in RP's Elevator Mix.

LOL 😂 😂 😂

So now may I have your votes, please.

A review from Apple Music seems to verify the assertion from the post you responded to:
"for Purple Noon, his fourth LP under the Washed Out alias, Greene traveled to Greece for inspiration—images and atmosphere he could evoke once he returned home to Atlanta and began writing. (That’s him on the cover, photographed by his wife on the island of Santorini.)"
Lyrics are the conversation I wish I'd had with my ex before it all went to shit.

Maybe...
I honestly don't understand why this didn't make more waves in Pop. It's a great groove and has emo lyrics. Seems like it should have been the perfect storm ala Gotye's "Girl I Used To Know."

down-votes aside, I would actually listen to an Elevator Mix on RP.. perfect backdrop for a work day :)
What a Wicked Game we play. At the europop dance party.
Happy music terribly sad lyrics.
9 > 10.
Nice find!

I've downloaded a number of tunes by Washed Out over the last several years.  Their vocals and melodies are like a cool breeze on a summer's day.

Mmm hmm. How does anyone under 50 write this? Young music, old soul in the lyrics.
Travel drive song!
Used to have it rated higher but this is the only song off this album that gets played and I'm already getting tired of it.

What's this about?  Am I missing something?

Hey, Bill.  In keeping with the happy subject of divorce, a great follow-up to this song would be "Raising Up the White Flag" by Royal Wood.

Thrue that, reminds me on Greece 2011 summer hollidays.

If we didn't have RP we old timers might not know stuff like Washed Out put out a new LP in 2020.

Reminds of a slightly more electronic Boxer Rebellion!

Oh yeah first again.  Giving it a 6 to start.

What is "bedroom pop" genre music?

The Wiki link refers to an article on lo-fi music; "bedroom pop" is a sub-genre of that, often recorded at home or on substandard equipment, or having a "fuzzy" sound.
Easy but efficient! :)
