The words I have to say
May well be simple but they're true
Until you give your love
There's nothing more that we can do

Love is the opening door
Love is what we came here for
No one could offer you more
Do you know what I mean
Have your eyes really seen

You say it's very hard
To leave behind the life we knew
But there's no other way
And now it's really up to you

Love is the key we must turn
Truth is the flame we must burn
Freedom the lesson we must learn
Do you know what I mean
Have your eyes really seen

— Elton John (& Bernie Taupin), Love Song

Given the title and the era, this could have gone in so many different directions and never attained the beauty and power this song has.
Huge album in my youth...  Still wonderful.
Luscious.
It's been decades since I last heard it so finding it today was a blessing...  quite a delightful one.

The first time I heard it was around 1974, sitting in a small café with my family in Disney World.   It stuck in my head for days and when I returned home to New Jersey, I figured out how to play it on the piano and didn't learn until months later that it was Elton John.   I was able to buy the record, learn the words, and add it to my Elton John play list along with Candle in the Wind and Love Lies Bleeding.
