Happy life with the machines scattered around the room.
Look what they made; they made it for me... happy technology!
Outside the Lions roam feeding on remains...
We'll never leave, look at us now;
So in love with the way we are here!

The world that the children made...
The world that the children made, here!
The world that the children made, here!
The world that the children made.

Every night they rock us to sleep, digital family!
Is it real? Or is it a dream? Can you believe in machines?
Outside, the beating sun, can you hear the screams?
We'll never leave, look at us now.
So in love with the way we are here!

Happy life...with the machines scattered around the room.
Look what they made, they made it for me; happy technology!
Outside the lions roam feeding on remains.
We'll never leave, look at us now;
So in love with with the way we are here!

I swear I'm not making this up. I literally just got done charging these new semi-pricey earbuds I got this afternoon and of course when I'm ready to try them out where do I go but here?  So this song that I've never even heard is on 'flac' and I'm just kinda' shaking my head.  Great great sound. Thank you 'RP'.
some guy sent deadmau5 vocals to a beat in deadmau5's SoundCloud, and it turned into this  song, if I understand this video correctly

Or, just go back to Clear Channel....
overproduced crap

what is the name of that book?
Not bad, but I prefer Deadmaus as techno instrumental, without singing.
Good to hear more from Deadmau Five.
I think y'all need to actually listen to the lyrics. Perhaps y'all haven't read The Veldt?

Generic, maybe. Garbage? No. I'd be interested in the music you create. What, surprise? You say you don't play an instrument and can't write? I would have never known.
From Deadmau5 to Bob Moses, straight up garbage. It is as though this stuff is engineered and manufactured for douchebags at Hamptons and Vegas Pool  Parties
The most boring thing I've ever heard on RP. Can't hear the value in it at all.
The intro was giving me strong Steve Winwood "Valerie" vibes!

It's just a misplaced RadioHead comment. Maybe Billie Eilish.

I like the bassline, and the "here" emphasis...  some cool bits in it.  I love synths and all kinds of them though so that's me.
Not generally an electro phan, but this is a good rowing tune.  Happy for the machines and technology and the way it goes on and on.  Bleep. 8.

I might be more tolerant of the unwelcome techno-pop vibe if it didn't go on for 8 minutes.  And some of us listen to the hi-def stream on players with better audio options.  PSD is not an option.

I'll give deadmau5 a pass for the cool album cover, and RP a pass for following this with "Subterranean Homesick Alien".
I wonder if he's any relation to Bob Dylan?

I miss that show!
There is something about this which is meant to be a little disturbing I think.  I hear it as the soundtrack of dystopia.  As if it were meant to sound harmless but becomes relentless and unstoppable as it repeats beats in perfect grid-locked rhythm stripped of soul or even human expression. It's a forced march into the "perfect" future and an extreme example of the misuse of total control.  I was having a terrible reaction to all that until it occurred to me that it's possible he meant to do that.

👇🏞A beautiful tune on amazing album! Next to "Have You Seen the Stars Tonight" on 1971's Blows Against the Empire, this is the best sci-fi rock song I know of. Posted 1 year ago by yobyot
 Lovin' this.
Usually not a fan, but this song is reminisient of the theme song for "Rita" (tv series), which I like.
More of an Acid Cat fan myself...
Funny, I like how he's combining cats and mice, both in the album cover photo and the wiki page pic showing him on stage with mouse ears and a Puma t-shirt.....still a 7 on this one...LLRP!!

Made old man dance, thankfully nobody saw me: 5 points.
Discovering song years after its publication, thanks to RP still having it in rotation: +1
Discovering remarkable manner in which the final vocal-tracked version evolved: +2

. . .

Realizing I'm 7 years in arrears, this old dad hears curated feature example of electronic artist, Deadmau5 - The Veldt, I would find out later the title being a reference to a Ray Bradbury short story. Having never heard this artist nor much of this kind of music before, the song just made me old-man dance. A month later, I heard it again and got curious about the title and researched it: The story of how the published song came together from a semi-random internet-connected collaboration I found really fascinating.
See https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=deadmau5+the+veldt
3rd hit on the search is the artist's narrative live-streamed at the time he discovered the volunteer lyrical collaboration and immediately recognized its value and embraced it. It was fun to see an artist's AHA! moment.
Never too sure 'bout Deadmau5 ...this sounds owl city ish to me.
I am taking this song out of the threes which is dead city for me and giving it a 5 which is like bringing it back from the dead. Rarely happens for me
I like Deadmau5 when he makes his own music. His remixes however...
This is just a 5 in my book.

I appreciate a wide variety of electronic music, so my reason for rating this a 4 is not genre bashing - this song is just boring and fairly derivative IMO. If RP wants to explore electronic styles, I'd love to hear some more innovative material from artists like Autechre, Cabaret Voltaire, Boards of Canada, etc. Even more Eno, Kraftwerk and Vangelis would be more interesting than this.

I've felt the way you've commented a lot lately, and in reading my older posts (under my prev username) I was a lot like that (I guess age does broaden ones horizons, eh?)

That being said, I did find BnR's "about RP" statement to be elucidating to the topic of "STFU and quit your bitching" vs. "I'm not feeling this one, sorry" - so yeah...Long Live RP!!

About RP

Radio Paradise is Old Fashioned Radio for the 21st Century

Each hour of music is carefully blended together to flow smoothly between different musical styles & genres - just like real DJs used to do on FM. We don't use the computer-generated playlists or "carefully researched music libraries" that have sucked the soul out of FM radio - and we never just throw songs together at random the way many web stations do.

We also depend on input from you to help fine-tune our music mix. If you hear something that you feel strongly about (either positively or negatively), please take a moment to rate and/or post a comment on that song. Just click the song title anywhere on our site or the heart icon on the web player.

We'd also love to hear from you if there's an artist you don't hear, but think would fit in with our music mix. You can do that (or register your opinion on songs others have suggested) on our Submissions page.

Autobiographical.

I’ve long believed that some listeners like to kid themselves that they have eclectic tastes but lack the necessary tolerance to truly appreciate eclectic radio.

Never heard this before. Listening, I thought it sounded familiar, but slightly different. But too familiar to another tune or two I know.
Got up to look and my suspicion was correct.
I think this mau5 needs to find a new pony, or teach the current one a new trick.
The worst.

This certainly gives the techno/house genre a different meaning.  Seems like a bargain at thirty thousand, though ...

I was listening and thinking to myself ~ man, that's an epic piece of sh*t song..... so much so that I took the time to log on to my computer to voice my utter disdain only to find out its DeadRat ..... at least he's consistent.

Gimme a $2,000 bottle of vodka and some extreme VIP attention and I still won't like it.

Dunno what intrinsic value RP sees in this kindergarten music. Maybe I'm missing the point?

At least it's followed by a classic quality piece of music in this set. Thanks for putting me out of my misery with this gold standard Who song, Love Reign O'er Me.

It's shitty and boring but... it's long.
WTF? Pure crap.

Came to comment about this. Gives the song a really interesting dark edge. Not sure if that would be there from the lyrics alone because I knew the story before I listened to the words.

Jumped from 7 to 8
Perfect for a first day of cool air, non polluted lazy lazy morning, in Beijing , this sunday, end of august 2017
Really not liking Deadmau5.
Reminding me how the drum machines helped kill live music venues.
Will this song ever end?
Cheers to the diversity of RP!!!

I was just outside, where it's currently 98 degrees, and this song is literally cooling me back down. Thanks RP!  {#Good-vibes}
This is, maybe, the third time I have heard this song. It has me chair dancing to the point of rating it a nice 8. {#Dancingbanana_2}
Really. I expect better on RP.
I'm a fan of Deasmau5, and this is my favorite track of his.
Thank you for making me stop what I was doing and listen.

Absolutely no shame in playing more chill/trip/lounge/house music here on RP. There are many great artists making electronic music today.
Really nice track.  Made me forget what I was doing.
Not really into techno/house/trance/whatever genre this fits into...but much prefer it to basically anything on the FM radio dial.

Solid 6 for now- will watch it ebb and flow~
It's not for the head, it's for the legs. Bored and long.
thank you for PSD feature... not my cup of tea

exactly my thoughts...heck I'm surprised that on the first play this track got about 6 comments...and I'm also at an 8 for the imagery (metaphorical and pictorial...that cover art is pretty neat) and cool beat, although I'm thinking it will end up as a 7 soon. LLRP!

Truly eclectic!  An artist I never thought I would hear on RP.

I am pleased.
