I still dream of Orgonon.
I wake up crying.
You're making rain,
And you're just in reach,
When you and sleep escape me.

You're like my yo-yo
That glowed in the dark.
What made it special
Made it dangerous,
So I bury it
And forget.

But every time it rains,
You're here in my head,
Like the sun coming out--
Ooh, I just know that something good is going to happen.
And I don't know when,
But just saying it could even make it happen.

On top of the world,
Looking over the edge,
You could see them coming.
You looked too small
In their big, black car,
To be a threat to the men in power.

I hid my yo-yo
In the garden.
I can't hide you
From the government.
Oh, God, Daddy--
I won't forget,

'Cause every time it rains,
You're here in my head,
Like the sun coming out--
Ooh, I just know that something good is going to happen.
And I don't know when,
But just saying it could even make it happen.

The sun's coming out.
Your son's coming out.

Long Live                                                                                                            Radio Paradise
To me this is a SOLID                                                                                    8 - Most Excellent
This live version is simply stunning... she made it happen.
A lovely version of a gorgeously bittersweet song; especially like the extra orchestral *oomph*. And as noted below, if you've not seen the vid version with Donald Sutherland, do so. Heartbreakingly beautiful; reduces me to tears each time I watch it.
awesome live version of an all time favourite
I think the studio version wins for me.
it was the power of the whole album.
I sat on row 4.

Can someone explain to me what is good about this? I'm open minded here; I just don't get it. Really. Why do people like this song so much?

Are you asking for an explanation of personal tastes?

Pure Excellence. {#Daisy}{#Daisy}{#Daisy}
Do you pre-Internet elder-cats here realize that there is a storybook video version of this on YouTube in which, get THIS, Donald Sutherland is the star?! Alongside Kate Bush, of course. I had no freakin' clue about this media gem, as I'm just barely under MTV generation even, never had my own TV until the late 80's maybe, so a lot of the awesome that now lives on YouTube gets past me.

But go check it out, if you too hadn't already seen it until the recent, annual Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever (MWHDE) global-wide celebrations (was doing costuming "research" to prep for the big day here in Atlanta and stumbled on it). It's priceless. https://youtu.be/pllRW9wETzw

There's a catch though. You Dark Materials/Philip Pullman fans, I warn you. He copped Ms. Bush's storyline almost concept-to-concept. Dude's got plenty of 'splaining to do, you ask me.

Oh, one more thing, don't forget that tomorrow is THE big day! The 200th birthday of Emily Jane Brontë. Even if you too have not one darn moor nearby to skip through, please celebrate in spirit. I will raise a glass to a seemingly immortal spirit that is Ms. Brontë's. And to Radio Paradise and our "mutual" company here too.

My very first comment here at RP. I used to be a fan of Kate Bush, and have a couple of her LPs. But Bill, you've been playing her so much since this live album came out that I have gotten sick of her. God damn it. I liked her. Now she's become tiresome, at least the versions from this album. Please cool it, will you? Please? Enough is enough!

It's your second comment actually since you apparently gifted Boz Scaggs with your first:

Boz Scaggs - Loan Me A Dime
(Aug 05, 2016 - 07:56)I've had this on vinyl since not long after it was released, and it's still an all-time fave. I've seen Boz perform it a couple of times, but not with Duane, of course. Still quite good, but not up to this transcendent rendition. Boz was very much a solid blues man before he drifted into his later pop disco period, where most people encountered him.
This Kate and Katy mashup Orgonon Gurlz shouldn't work, but it totally does.

Kate exists in a
reality, well outside
of comprehension

She does a grand job
in connecting us to it
Not generally a huge Kate Bush person but there are a few songs - and this one in particular - just burned into my psyche, largely from seeing the video so much as a kid.  Always nice to here and while live versions aren't always superior to the original, it's nice to hear something a bit different when you've heard the album version a million times.
Still amazing. Self-taught composer, musician, lyricist, dancer, choreographer, dress designer...
I change my opinion to from 7 to 8 - Most Excellent
Ahhhhhh.... more Kate bush?! Come on.... PSD/mute doesn't prevent hearing even one note of this garbage....
You know, she delivered this at 56 or 57 yrs and for this listener that worth a +1 Respect

Congratulations.

First time I have heard this version and blown away, just like them pesky clouds
Kate Bush singing this song has always moved me. Superb
I think I keep my earplugs up that hill

Well done RP. Her range sounds like it's shrunk a tiny bit but that's more than made up for by the warmth of this live performance. I think you either get Kate Bush or you don't and I consider myself lucky that I do.

This makes me so happy. I love hearing the crowd singing along, and Kate enjoying herself on stage. The entire album is fantastic.

At least mute works when PSD fails. Bill, you gotta keep PSD working for the times you play Kate Bush!

Thanks for playing the live songs. Brings me back to the show every time. So grateful I got to go.
And met Steven Wilson at the show too, bonus!

Wilson is a big fan of Kate Bush and one of the reasons I am listening to her these days.  3 KB albums and counting.  This live one is excellent!

Bought the CD and love it.

I know the album by heart, so I even wondered if this was a cover.
actually, hearing Kate obviously totally enjoying herself on stage makes me very, very happy. she didn't do a lot of live in her days. hearing a crowd going crazy for her, that's like making up for something long overdue.
I'm a happy man (and fan), once again thanks to RP as I had no idea there was a live album.
and I pray this want Kate's last concert.... I'll kill to see her next time :-)

I totally agree.

So wonderful! The passion, the talent, and the musical genius of Kate continues to shine! I'm happy to hear all the revival here on RP.
Incredible how faithful it is to the studio version
Wish I was at this gig.
Why does an image of Donald Sutherland always come to mind when I hear this song?
What a concert that must have been.
I love this so much!
I've listened to all 3 discs obsessively since this came out. Not a bad performance in the bunch and well worth the wait.

This cowboy is happy that RP is playing this Kate Bush album obsessively.

Will definitely have to get this.

This is a new song for RP? Amazing...
Edit: No it isn't. There is already https://www.radioparadise.com/rp_2.php?#name=songinfo&song_id=30230
Double song in the playlist.
Edit 2: Apparently this is a new live version. Not a very good addition?
