With a purple umbrella and a fifty cent hat,
Livin', lovin', she's just a woman.
Missus cool rides out in her aged Cadillac.
Livin', lovin', she's just a woman.

Come on, babe on the round about, ride on the merry-go-round,
We all know what your name is, so you better lay your money down.

Alimony, alimony payin' your bills,
Livin', lovin', she's just a woman.
When your conscience hits, you knock it back with pills.
Livin', lovin', she's just a woman.

Come on, babe on the round about, ride on the merry-go-round,
We all know what your name is, so you better lay your money down.

Tellin' tall tales of how it used to be.
Livin', lovin', she's just a woman.
With the butler and the maid and the servants three.
Livin', lovin', she's just a woman.

Nobody hears a single word you say.
Livin', lovin', she's just a woman.
But you keep on talkin' till your dyin' day.
Livin', lovin', she's just a woman.

Come on, babe on the round about, ride on the merry-go-round,
We all know what your name is, so you better lay your money down.

Livin', Lovin', She's just a woman.

Back to back with Heartbreaker, as it should be. ☺

On my Favorites Mix, it's back-to-back with Lola (Kinks), which is almost as perfect as Heartbreaker. :)
with a purple umberella and a fifty cent hen is what i always heard....

Ahhh memories... the Mclaughlin Planetarium laser light show synced up to an entire album! Your right, the Zepplin show was a stand-out! Good times
This is the ONLY time in my memory I've heard back-to-back songs by the same artist on RP!!?
(Saw them at the old Boston Garden in '70; worst concert EVER! They kept fans waiting an hour, no opening act, played (fantastically) for 45+ minutes, left without an encore!! The crowd trashed the place and North Station.....!)

2 Zep tracks in a row , thank you.

Robert Plant sounds a bit like John Fogerty here.

LOL! ...that is not a bad thing. ...eh?
Robert Plant sounds a bit like John Fogerty here.
GREAT TUNE!! I bought this album right after it was released. I was 14yrs old. I had no idea what the lyrics were.  Thank You for the lyrics, RP!!
The mighty Zep👍

Well, after 47 years of hearing this song, this is the first time I've checked the lyrics, and specifically the first line (thanks to the RP lyrics feature): "With a purple umbrella and a fifty cent hat"
As opposed to what I was hearing: "With a purple operator and a 50-cent hair", which of course makes no sense. ; )

"With a purple operator and a fifth in hand"
rock allo stato puro - che nell'album poi contrasta con una melodia da favola

Any American knows what a "fifth" is.

BTW, I bought this LP when it first came out because I wanted to be cool in school.
I had no idea about the music on it.

I always heard the same thing.  Thought this was about an inebriate.

I think his "essence" has been "studied" plenty.
Heartbreaker > Living Loving Maid.  Perfect for a Friday late afternoon/early evening imo.  Thanks RP!

Eau Claire, Wisconsin: beer-saturated, manure-laden boots, aire-guitar flailing.. gleefully bellowing "slow cousin walter"... to the tune of "Smoke On The Water"
Of for crying out loud!

Its all about the hooks!
dialed up LZ on a food pickup run and when I get home and ask Alexa to play RP, what am I rewarded with but a Zep twofer. Occasionally the universe comes together.
Not even in their top 10 tunes, but hot dang this rocks.

I finally got the lyric "50 cent hat". Kept hearing "fips in hand". Leading to my lifetime search for a fips.

Classic, simply Classic stuff. Saw Zep 1973 Chicago, $7.50! Made the movie from that tour. Number one concert in my life of hundreds.
 You've had hundreds of lives?

Nice to keep the transition with living loving maid !

Absolutely! Love that Bill always plays it as it always should have been.
Just can't listen to this anymore still "PTSD'd" from decades of overplay...and it's brilliant.  (always happy for new generations that get to discover this for the first time!)

Led Zepplin two-fer - THANKS BILL!!!!
YEA, Heartbreaker and Living Loving Maid belong played together!

Jam On . . .
She's just a virtual being from the internet
The whole album would get a "10" in my world (ie. my own feeble rock'n roll brain).  Takes me back to a time when blasting this on the quad 8-track deck in my '65 Dodge  van with a bunch of stonies in the back bobbing and shaking to the music was a great way to spend Saturday night in the Great White North!

It would probably go better than "Dead Loving Maid" would.

Next song is this one!  Universe still spinning 'round.
Amazing. This song is as old as I am and we both still rock.

This is the only way these two songs are meant to be played: one right after the other. The bridge between the two is brilliant and always gets me rocking.
By golly this music's got me shakin my rickety biscuits!!! Woopiddy-dooooo yee-haaaa

Just played the vinyl album this morning.  Nice hearing the songs together like they should be.

oh hey, I like this sound! Woo-hoo hope to hear a coupla' more from this neat young group, by gum : )
Used to love this album, but it's a bit heavy-handed these days.

I've always thought this was one of their best tunes.  That great Telecaster sound.

Hmm, the same thing just happen.
