Since so many years now he's definitely one of the best Artists out there! Everytime i hear his Music, i get a very special feeling (like i'm coming home or something in this direction)..

We saw him a couple of years ago at Mountain Winery in Saratoga, CA. While we LOVE his music, we were not at all impressed with his stage presence (it was ho-hum). As was repeated in Hamburg's Kaiserkeller back in the day, "Mach schau, mach schau!"

This particular tune is my least favorite cut on the album.  Its not bad per se, just strikes me as being too crafted/commercial.  Perhaps intended as the tune for single airplay.   I like the album as a whole though.  Nothing overly exciting or surprising about it... mostly, it feels comfortable.

I've got tickets for when he comes through Washington. I haven't seen him live before, but here's the question I asked myself; "Would I regret it if I had the opportunity, and I didn't see Mark Knopfler live?" to which the answer was a resounding "Yes!"

My first time through this album, I have to admit it wasn't as powerful as I was hoping from my favorite works of his (Brothers in Arms, Ragpickers Dream, Privateering) but it's really grown on my. A true master at work.

Best track of this album. At least, that's how i currently feel, it tends to switch between songs over time. {#Ask}

 

I'm guessing i'm a lifetime fan of Mark (ask me again in hopefully say 50 years from now). I love it all, yet i still think he should rip his six-string for at least one song per album. I get the whole "less is more" approach, but man, in his Dire Straits days (especially live) he blew me away with his unique tone and melodic solo's. Nothing quite like it. He can still do it, but it's almost as if he is afraid to let it all out.

It's great he releases a new album every two years, but ever since "The Ragpicker's Dream" he switched to lower gears. Every album since is great, but nothing really stands out. His guitar is his trademark, but he doesn't showcase it anymore like he used to.
