We are born in silence, there's nothing
Or no one to blame.
Soon we learn to fight, or die trying,
So my father said.
Said we can still be friends, that don't mean nothing
As it rushes to my head, my head.
You never loved, you'd just pretend, or something.
Darlin' you really should have said

Cause all I wanted was a little love.
All I needed was a little care.
All I wanted was a little love and tenderness yeah yeah.

I hear the siren blaze in the distance.
Her blood still on my hands,
But there's no way I would hide cause I loved her.
Surely you understand.
Your name is Geoffrey Drake, and you're under arrest he said
And led me down the road in chains, neighbors all turned their heads.
Goodbye Geoffrey Drake, a name they never will forget
As poison rushes through my veins, steals my final breath.

But all I wanted was a little love.
All I needed was a little care.
All I wanted was a little love and tenderness, yeah yeah yeah.

We all die in silence, there's nothing.
Only ourselves to blame.
Too much fight, no love gets you nowhere.
I wish my mother had stayed.

Cause all I wanted was a little love.
All I needed was a little care.
All I wanted was a little love and tenderness, yeah yeah yeah.

All I wanted was a little love.
All I wanted was a little care.
All I needed was a little love and tenderness, yeah yeah

lousy singing, lousy lyrics    ?   not much to work with here Graffiti6
Wow. Insensitive much?  What he's singing about is a sad plague in our society , on both the maternal and paternal fronts, that lead people to desperate and unfortunate demise.

Sad story ☹️👍

Psst!  On the left, slightly downward.
Last verse says it all...

 Yes, I hear you.
But I find the lyrics tragic and penetrating, and the musical treatment so perfectly evocative!
"I wish my mother had stayed." Wow.
Wish I could understand what is being sung.
just listening and had to stop see who this artist is that I've never heard of before performing a song that I've never heard of but really like.   A few minutes well spent away from work.  Love RP
What a talented artist!

I like it more after reading the lyrics.  It has meaning and tells a story, albeit a sad one.

Arrrgggg….damn it....me too...heck I was going to say it sounds like a modern Paul Simon song and those lyrics...well....not quite up to PS standards, eh?

I'll keep my 7 rating on it...and Long Live RP!!
Wow. That VOICE!
I liked this song a lot more before I read the lyrics.

Yeah, he's kinda quiet and he spends an inordinate amount of time in the foyer.

That's the shadow fleeting around my eye late at night...
I like it. Maybe not the most complex piece ever conceived, but certainly listenable with a nice groove.

Ho-wah-hah-mumble-drone-burble. TFFPSD
nice to hear one of my favorites here
The Moj liketh!
Simple and 'ear-catching', not sure about the slightly electro-pop drum - takes the edge off a bit for me
