You know the way it is
These thoughts are mutineers
Trying to shake the monkey off my back
So beat the island drum
And steady as she come
And all the stores are closing for the lack
To drink the damn place dry
Only plan of attack

And Babe
Sure feels good
Sure feels good
This moving close
This moving close
Sure feels good babe

And Hey
What could they know
What could they know
Bout what we have
Yeah what we have
What could they know Babe?

The early warning signs
All lit up in my mind
It's true you know
Some things weren't meant to be
Until your secret's out
It's your worst enemy

And Babe
Sure feels good
Sure feels good
This moving close
This moving close
Sure feels good babe

And Hey
What could they know
What could they know
Bout what we have
Yeah what we have
What could they know Babe?

Time is ours to burn
Is ours to burn
We got that glide
That freewheel glide
It's ours to burn babe

Oh Babe
Sure feels good
Sure feels good
This moving close
This moving close
Sure feels good babe

The best misheard lyrics on Radio Paradise are a close race between this song, and "the world just wants you naked."
It feels good...
I've loved David Gray since the first time I heard him. Songs that reach out and grab your heart, that scratchy but tuneful voice, always well drilled live performances, the head wobble. Everything.  My missus always complains about the abundance of David Gray in my playlists, which can only be a good thing

... so move in close!
Is this song about the mood of the deposed leader of Iran?

He is a great singer for a couple in love.
I was unmarried at the time after a painful divorce; I suffered from seeing all these couples entwined in the dim light of the concert hall, lulled by the songs of David Gray.
Great singer and beautiful songs.

Look after the king of R n R please

I just had a weird moment.  I saw that this song was released in 2014, then I saw the top song comment was written 6 years ago.  I thought "how could that comment be written 6 years ago if the song was only released in 2014?".  Then I realized "holy crap, it's the year 2020"!!!  Where did the years go?

And another year...

Now I’ve heard ‘shar feels good’ I cannot I hear it. Thanks you lot 🤬
David Gray tends to capture the heart of the moment. The feeling. And this is no exception. Though it is exceptional... Even if his head does bobble when he's singing, like he is perched on the dashboard of a pickup truck.

He's not dead yet......
Boring dirge - sucko-barfo from me
Very dirge-like, pall-bearer pacing.
Bit of a fan of Mr Gray.  ↑ 8 from the Bristol office.

he IS singing about the shower feeling good. It's not like the lyrics on RP are consistently correct. At the end he says to kick of your shoes. It's raining see
Tune reminds me of an Elbow song I think?
"Shah feels good"?
   .........Can't wait to see David Gray in Melbourne in March....{#Yes}

I have multiple problems with this song.
1) The way he pronounces "sure" as "shower" started as funny, and now that I'm hearing this song for about the eighteenth time, it's just become annoying.
2) Because of the above, whenever I take a shower, I hear this song in my head now. This is unfortunate, because I already didn't like this song.

4 -> 3, and PSD engaged.
Finally a David Gray song I like...think I'll have to investigate the album.

Shar does.
....... and I'm going to buy it .
I like!
i do appreciate his voice. you feel like with him you'd know where you stand. But that is  NOT to say,, in a "where have all the cowboys gone?" way

i am also so enjoying this sea "theme..." ... thread? salt sea strand? so can someone please, what is the deal on the accompanying  slide shows? (being new i know only that i am am IGNORANT]. so  whence cometh them? who or what mixes them? any way to copy one for entertainment purposes only? because theyy strike me as so much better than what other spots settle for. .rarely i will even listen to something mildly unsatisfying just to listen to the pictures & how excellent to be visually excited when you are already getting your ears and maybe the emotional half of your heart turned on.

and there was one huge blue wave during david grey just now i swear if there was a back view of him buck nekkid and staring out at it i could have wept had the next song in the Q been maybe Banquet from the inside cover of joni mitchell For the Roses.  but we got a  better choice next and i feel fine about that.

i know this is too long.
please bear with me as i figure out the mechanics and acquire some protective coloration.
just trying to.say how much this RP thing has improved my marginal life since i found you
Starts off like a U2 number, although Bono would not be saving the 3rd world singing about taking a shower (not politically correct!!) :)

I agree — a shower does feel good.
Recurring beat sounding a bit like Mike Oldfield's Ommadawn

Terrific album.
For some reason, I am liking this iteration of David Gray much more than in the last decade.  Nice work.
Yeah, the shower feels good...

His vocals remind me of Turin Brakes.
The song builds really nicely. 7.
