There's something I didn't get
There's something I missed
Was it something I didn't say
Or was it something I did

When I look into my precious mirror
Well it only shows my darkest features
I try to get a grip of the old me
But you take it away when you're on the scene

And you make it all wrong
You make it all right
The minute you're gone
The minute you're back

I know it's been a while since we talked
That doesn't erase feelings
And since my pride went for a walk
I don't answer to nothing

And there's a thousand roles I could have played
And there's a thousand words I could have said
And there's a thousand rules that I never knew
And there's a thousand fools that could be you

And you make it all wrong
You make it all right
The minute you're gone
The minute you're back

Do we stop here and reboot computers
Or do we linger still until it crashes later
I'll shoot my brains out again if you come back around
But I won't suffer the blame to watch us go down

You make it all wrong
You make it all right
The minute you're gone
The minute you're back

You know it ain't right but you will be back
We might as well rest 'til dawn
We're making the best of it all
Tonight we're immune
Say we're bulletproof
And no matter how hard we bleed
Doesn't mean that I want to leave

Members are Sabrina Halde (vocals, ukulele, keyboards & percussions), Jean-Vivier Lévesque (keyboards, electros & percussions), Jonathan Charette (drum), Simon Gosselin (bass), Gabrielle Girard-Charest (cello) and Ariane Gruet-Pelchat (violin).

So. . .  those listeners who are sure it was Adele they were hearing, are an ocean apart.

Either way, I'm turning this up!

I agree -- I heard this track and thought, I really like Adele's voice, looked at the web page for more information and found .. Groenland?

So it's either a side project for her, or the singer really sounds like Adele. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

I was sure when it started that it was Julia Stone's "It's All Okay".
I look forward to the day when this style of singing goes out of date.
YEAH !!!  OMG  I love it   !!!!!!   DANG hey xxxxxx

I like how they don't end on the chorus. Your mind expects it but the song doesn't go there. Complements the lyrics and tone.
That cover doesn't look like Greenland at all. It's way too... green. Maybe El Trumpo saw it and thought it was a sales brochure, lol.

This pretty good track sounds like a cross between Adele's "21" material and Alessia Cara.  Edit: Just heard Bill say they're from Montreal, not that all Canadian acts sound alike...

Thought for sure this was Adele.

Agonisingly repetitive ...
Anyone who can sound like Adele more than anyone is great in my book. The songwriting isn't quite there, but it's not bad. A good singer makes the work better. 6 or 7
Schön anzuhören!
Wow!
I agree, too.

Agreed.
Thankful for the PSD button.
A poor man's Adele ... and even she's tiring.

actually it would be the Dutch word for Greenland, not sure if Danish is the same as well:)

That's an intriguing cover. The band name, which I believe is the Danish original of 'Greenland', reminds me elliptically of Peter Høeg's wonderful and idiosyncratic book "Miss Smilla's Feeling for Snow", much of the action in which is set in and around Greenland. Strongly recommended. 9 for the book from the Nottingham Book Club, and a good 7 for this nice song.

I think the Danish spell it Grønland.  This band is apparently from Montreal however.

7 for the book
4 for the film (rotten tomatoe)
2 for the song
Very Groenland - and rather bad too!

Saw the movie, with the lovely Julia Ormond, which affected me for weeks.  Like the song, too.
I had to mute the sound until this one was over. Horrible, annoying song.
{#Fire} stupid!
Thank you for this one RP, a great song and a great album; fresh, original and brilliant. I gave it a 9, sometimes I wonder who I'm saving the 10 for..

I'm not even sure a breakdown would see my buying this. Hopefully it will have as much lasting appeal as Adele...

My mama taught me that if I don't have anything nice to say
then don't say anything.
I don't always do what mama told me, but
I don't have much nice to say about this....
nope, not much.
Most excellent.
first listen tonight, I'm really into female vocals & have been for a long time!  I try not to decide but I pretty much am leaning to a thumbs up.  REALLY NEED to hear more from the album tho.

Very nice.  Seriously people some of you sound very much like teenagers.  This style is too popular to be cool.  Judge with your ears not your social prejudice.

Agreed - and as others have said, an Adele Adkins wannabe.
Unremarkable. Could be just about any current pop diva appeing to 14 yr old angst ridden girls.
The girl in the lyrics was so unhealthy as to be completely dependent and suicidal or at least to throw those words around lightly are not to my liking - cheap drama. The singing and music were better than that ... Deserved more.
She doesnt sound Quebecish.  Doh'
Every time I hear this song it gets my attention. Love her voice. at first I thought it was Lianne Lahavas (sp?) who is also great.I want to hear more of Lianne but she isn't getting a lot of play here.Love it.

Count me as one who thought this was Adele, thought she had put out a new album and it was on RP before anywhere else, just like Rolling in the Deep was....although with her popularity now that would be impossible, but just was my first thought....

Exactly! Sounds like Adele or some other one hit wonder pop singer produced by Simon Cow:(

Watch this video...it might change your mind on the "Adele" comparison...the vocals are performed by Sabrina Halde. Nice live brass and orchestration. Plus, unlike the "manufactured" vocalists of late, Sabrina actually plays instruments.

Groanland.
She can sing, I'll give her that.   It does not move the chains for me though...the song is everything.  This is not American Idol.
In first instance I thought it was Caro Emerald, our dutch talented singer.
Because it is a dutch written name, Groenland, I was surprised they are from Montreal, Canada
Nice debut album.
sounds like Adele to me. So much so I went to the google to find out (its not)

Spot on. Grindingly boring.
it reminds me lots of Julia Stone's It's All OK (piano parts) but I prefer Julia's work {#Good-vibes}

Very interesting. I'm hoping RP plays more of the album.
I hear a Beyoncé and Adele mashup.
Nice, I like it
oohhh, I like.

Yes, more Sia than horrid Adele in my ears. I like this. Never heard of her before RP.
How many Adele imitators can we make room for? At some point you have to say, find your own thang. Be original,. Adele sound alikes are BORING, no matter how good the music and lyrics may be!

C'mon, Sabrina Halde! Get a life and stop being a cheap Adele ripoff!
Hard to believe that's NOT Adele.

Great fusion of writing and instrumentation.  Excellent!
Not Adele but someone, cant quite put my finger on it.

Good tune though.
Anyone else hear Adele?
Catchy
My new favourite band. To Groenland Everyone!
Never heard of  Groenland, only of Greenland. However sound not bad.
I like the "fuzzy" bass in the background.
