She caught me speechless,
The words fled useless
Oh, useless
The moonshine, water, her mother's daughter said she did not love me
Oh that's alright,
It's not about me I won't beat myself up.
She called me then hung up,
I shouldn't of let it ring
A small town living,
She swears soon that she's leaving
Oh, and I've said it myself over and over,
Over and over,
Oh, that's alright, should've left that night Oh I finally followed and I found her in the ocean from the bottom of a town,
nearly drowned, oh you couldn't keep her down.
The city, it saved her, at least until it claimed her.
She misplaced the lock in a strange arrangement of days,
in a silver city of haze, wouldn't try to find the change. Finally painless,
She'll make it eventually down to the sea,
And the mess we made was history,
In the dirt I'll be, I wait patiently,
In the dirt we'll be, oh we'll be.

In addition to music to express your feelings, but the songtext in the poems are intended to convey important messages of political and social topics from many angles, you should take advantage of that.

Saw these guys last Friday night at a small venue.  They were tight and seemed to be having fun.  If you like what you hear be sure to check them out live.  I took my young niece and nephew with me and they were amazed to see someone play a saw!

They are fun to watch! Very talented and a joy to watch. I really love their cover of Josh Ritter's Girl in the War... just awesome!

"millennial whoop" gives me a chuckle.

I like to let out a "Whoa!" right along with them.
it's fun
with suspenders
Puts me in mind of Darlingside, but I’m not sure if that’s in your rotation.
so sad this band parted ways... they've been my favorite act to see live in recent years

The Head, the Heart, and the Elephant.
Reminds me of The Lumineers.
this is a great album that gets a lot of play at our house. we saw them live on Halloween last year and they had rented some hilarious costumes and we have never laughed so hard in a concert. great performance.
Oh  out there!

The Mumford & Sons songs definitely all sounded the same when I listened to their album, which made me decide I didn't like them. Anyone heard this album in its entirety? If yes, what's it like?

It's quite good. I liked M&S a lot at first, but it wore off fast. This band is much more varied and I haven't tired of them at all. For one thing, every band member writes and sings, so the songs are not all composed by the same person or have the same dominant sounds. They are really good live too. I have a couple of their albums - some songs stand out as really excellent, others are toss offs, but overall I think it's an album worth getting. I particularly like "Spinning."
I have personally seen 3 five legged elephants, but I doubt that this track was that which energised them.
Sounds a bit like The Head and The Heart
When you go Down To The Sea you want to scream by her beauty. Where is that scream? The music was really nice but the singer was not Down To The Sea.

Cover art I bet.
I haven't been for awhile in Radio Paradise and the first song i listen back again was this one. Pretty cool song! I'll be listening more of "Elephant Revival"

Very nice song.

But - is it me, or are all the Mumford and Sons songs beginning to sound alike?

Oh wait - this isn't Mumford and Sons - no banjos.

Just logged on. Kind of an inspired set.  I am a sucker for this kind of voice. Ones that take their time. Add a fiddle and thats all she wrote.

Love that album cover too.
Love this...first time I've heard this band (and am already set on buying the album)....like an American I Am Kloot

I love Radio Paradise and the way it introduces me to the new and then seamlessly segues into an old familiar like U2 One

that's alright
she might have left at night...

city is savored
at least until it claimed her...

oh ooooh
oh whoooooa whoa whoa

-violins-

I saw Elephant Revival in Haines, Alaska at the Southeast Alaska State Fair.  Too bad they were not headliners- they only played for 30 minutes, wish it had been 3 hours.  If you ever get a chance...

Masterful transition from Stay Alive.  Okay, I need to vote with my pocketbook.  Thanks Bill and Rebecca.
Sounds like these guys would be great seen live!
Gorgeous!

So many young bands making this new acoustic music!

Same here!
Second time I have heard this band and second time I have liked what I heard
Saw this group live at Hillside Music Festival in Guelph (ON) last year - they were the absolute hit of the festival, for me anyway! Lovely, ethereal, otherworldly at times, and the musicianship is superb
