As the wheels all turn, and the noon Sun burns
A story rolls off this tongue, it extols
the miles between, your son; your child
remember the days when he was young, wild, and alive
this evening brought his end; his time
no tears from grief,
just a Virgin for his shrine
a floral wreath
and the shame for his crime
remember the days when he was young, wild, and alive
across these wide oceans—smoke blacks out innocent days
so old misers can cash out in places they pray and prey
gently escape or let them live on in you
He sang this song to young olive eyes
and took her hand across the burning sands
from desert plains they moved, so young so wild and alive
they were raised to believe the sea would dry before they died
across these wide oceans, smoke blacks out innocent days
so old misers can cash out in places they pray and prey
gently escape and let them live on in you.

Very nice.  Reminds me a bit of the Afghan Whigs sound with a female singer.  I can dig it.
Very unique song.

Maybe you were pretty high on drugs or alcohol

hmmm....I'm OK with this track...call it a 6 for now.  What's bothering me is that I'm old enough now to be COMPLETELY out of the "new" music scene, esp. with regards to the Seattle sound; about 15 years ago I would have known a band like this.  And I bet they're signed by Sub Pop records.  Just a guess.

BCRick and kkkkatie mentioned it has a FM vibe, which I get, although I'm also hearing a 'lo-fi' quality to the recording (which is why I'm guessing they are/were signed by Sub Pop) - kind of a modern psychedelic sound.

LONG LIVE RP!!

Sub Pop it is.

looks and sounds of summer of love
How nice it is to tune in to RP for the first time in my new big house on a hill above the Inland Sea and hear THIS AMAZING SONG...
I was happy to find this link and watch this amazing glimpse into this interesting, innovative, and talented group from Seattle! Here it is:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHtOY0clXGY

About 18 minutes in, they hit an intensity and a vibe as if a modern mix of old Jefferson Airplane and Throwing Muses...truly awesome!

Sadly, reports seem to indicate that they broke up after their last album in 2015...but I'm hoping that their creativity finds musical rebirth

A 6 for now. I'm liking this on first listen. I'd be happy to hear more from this band.
This is what I go to Paradise for. How on earth would I ever have found a gem like this?

Wow, this is incredible! At first I thought this was back from 70's or something, but then I noticed how clear the recording was.
Hypnotized all the way
Very cool, discovering this...must have heard it before here, but this time it really caught my ears.  Nice tune for a brisk, sunny Fall day!
Yessir, this be da schitznel.
Is the rest of the album up to the excellence of this cut? Anyone?
Not bad!
