10 o'clock and her life quit going
It wasn't long till it started snowing
And the end saw the wind really blowing around

Lone bird on a perch nearby
Saw something in her come untied
And then shivered just a bit as she aimed toward the sky

Get down that Matterhorn
What's wrong with the safe and warm ?
What's wrong with a book and tea at night ?
Up high in a friendless wind
Tears frozen upon descent
Get down that matterhorn again

There's a handwritten note he wrote
In the pocket of a cold down coat
On the body of the one who has left our world

And in the note there's a love professed
And some apology about some mess
But she won't be reading those words too soon

Get down that Matterhorn
What's wrong with the safe and warm ?
What's wrong with a book and tea at night ?
Up high in a friendless wind
Tears frozen upon descent
Get down that matterhorn again

Up high in a frightening sky
What's wrong with a quiet night ?
Get down that Matterhorn again.

Absolutely! By and large he was Grandaddy, i.e. he wrote and recorded much of their music on his own.

Awful vocal, sounds like some petulant teenage kid you want to slap. Lets down the track

Apparently, the playlist is not based on either of our humble opinions, but what is a "Grandaddy song"?

Lytle is a genius songwriter. One of the best lyricist ever.
Great song, great album, just don't understand the low rating.

Yeah, a very slowed down version.

{#Music} Nice, I would like to hear more of this artist, although I'm apparently in the minority.

Slightly disappointed with this album - it's ok, but seems bizarre to me that this makes it to the RP playlist when a lot of much better (imho) Grandaddy songs don't...

I might be a tad biased here being the uploader... that being said, I agree that the new record generally falls into the "quite nice, 6/7-ish" category. Your Final Setting Sun (which earned an insta-"sorry") is stunning, though.

Agreed on both points! Such is the mystery of the upload system... us listeners can never truly understand how He works! :)

COOL GRAPHICS ON THE RATING. I HATE TO MESS WITH THE SYMMETRY.
Lofty.
