Talking away
I don't know what I'm to say
I'll say it anyway
Today's another day to find you
Shying away
I'll be coming for you love O.K.

Take on me
Take me on
I'll be gone
In a day or two

So needless to say I'm odds and ends
But that's me stumbling away
Slowly learning that life is O.K.
Say after me
It's no better to be safe than sorry.

Take on me
Take me on
I'll be gone
In a day or two
Take on me
Take me on
I'll be gone
In a day or two

has a Simon & Garfunkel vibe to it

Glad I'm diabetic 'cause this syrupy little tune (and the Sweet artist name) would send my body into shock.

?
Have you recovered?
This is so funny{#Dance}
love this version much more than the original.
always nice to listen to a coverversion which is better than the original
Good take on this song!! {#Cheers}
This is cute, but I prefer the "literal version": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HE9OQ4FnkQ
Meh.
Very clever.  They got guts to try this!
I like it! Nice and different...{#Cheers}
This is a good cover of an underrated song, IMHO. Sorry to have missed Anni B in Malaga, earlier.  A-Ha is more of an international phenom than we (USA-centrics) get; e.g., they were the music behind the film "A Name Is A Name."

How do you tell how many "10" ratings have been submitted?

Hover your cursor over the 'bar' that represents ratings of 10.  As of this writing, Ani B's version of Take On Me has six votes of 10 and twenty votes of 1.  (The percentage of total votes is also shown.)

This is an interesting slant to a sing-along tune.  For me, the chorus of little girl voices completely change the meaning.
Perspective; get some.

{#Nyah}

Western Civilization has been declining and falling for hundreds of years. We're all slouching towards Bethlehem and moaning on Dover Beach. Pretty sure we'll survive emoticons.

I could do without this cover, though.

Clearly you haven't ventured to Norway.
I disagree. One point is that I can actually finally understand the lyrics to a song I've always liked. They're not as lame as I assumed!

Not my taste!
thanks RP! not the best thing ever played or heard but an excellent little side number. Would only rate it a 5 but nice to hear-here.
How do you tell how many "10" ratings have been submitted?
Wow, freaky.
{#Stop}
Hmm... Nope, sorry. Back to the original.
Utterly pointless.

Maybe you are a person INTOLERANT of others' musical tastes?

Really sweet. Better that the original, no ? Either that or I'm getting older.

This isn't their attempt?

(Great memories of the first days of MTV, though.  Or am I remembering it wrong?)

It was pivotal, man!  A-Ha started a movement and this song was the anthem.  A generation altered and ... oh forget it.  I can't keep this up.
Oh, how I wish twee was never invented.
Would be a 4 if the producer had removed the music box from the background.  So it remains a 3.
Wow, you people are harsh. Like A-Ha was important in your life or something.
I give her credit for offering a different take on the song...
Not too bad :)
I like the Norwegian version better.
Sorry, no.
Lighten up, folks.  It's whimsical.  That's all.

{#Arrowu}  I agree with ziakut:  Pretty funny comment.  Thanks for the chuckle.

Not bad.  It's really the first time I've been able to understand most of the lyrics.  So thanks for playing it slow.
{#Lol}     AHA-HA-HA!

very funny :-D

Miss the falsetto from the original.

I think I just threw up in my mouth a little.
I'm ... surprised ... by how much I enjoyed this song.
Not so  sure about this one....

i always imagine him with a big smile on his face when he plays covers.

Pretty disappointed cover !!!, anyway a good try !!!
So much better than the original.
This gets points for forcing me to use the PSD button for the first time ever.
I think her name is cute. Song is sorta cute. Original doesn't hold up in time well. Of all things to cover...I'm confused why she should choose this one. Rather hear this I suppose than the original now.
Is this really a guilty pleasure? I like it.
Ukulele does  not  make everything better
For me the original is a pleasure - why feel guilty? This cover is a bit, well ... I think modernrelics already made the point.

I rate modernrelics comment a solid 9.
Well played.

SHOOT ME! ANNNNNNNYTHING TO MAKE IT STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, crazy covers of otherwise unbearable songs.... I love you so much.

Agreed. This is weak a comedy cover.

First listen, I thought this was as wrong as it's possible to be.
Second listen, probably my favorite song from the last six months.
Just had an a-ha moment. And it wasn't good.
Doing covers of SOME songs should be punished by law.

This is one of them.

I play in a band and we do some covers, but we know which songs not to touch, lest we commit a sacrilege.

She had to choose one of the worst a-ha songs.

and the debate rages on...should RP bring back the puke emoticon??

Of all cover songs an artist could do, why? I've never given a song a 2 before. Bleah.
Ouch.  That was painful.
Just a bad memory now.
Silly. Just silly.
This is really hurting my brain.
So sick of twee.

hey yeah, let's have a ukelelefest!

What an awesome arrangement for this "old" 80's tune!

Roger that.
The Acoustic Cafe in-studio recording of Hello Kitty's cover version.

Which somehow manages to work.
This is kind of girly. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it doesn't make a song.
Killed it.
this is terrible.

Now, this is taking me by surprise...she turns an insignificant pop icon into something that could be artful! It was always my feeling that every melody has its own natural tempo, and she brings that home winding it down like this.
I sort of liked it, but all I could think of with the (often over used and unoriginal) ukelele strumming"somewhere over the rainbow."   The original song has a very "opposite of dubstep" feel to it with drums that are faster than the singing.  It gives the song a much more upbeat feel and rhythm.  Double or quadruple the strumming to regain the feel acoustically and it could just "take on" the original.   I'll listen to it again more closely next time.

Keep doing what you're doing just stay away from anything twangy, vocoded, or country! :)
wait...I know this one....A-HA!  Crackin' me up Bill.
this just put a big happy grin on my face. Much needed on a cloudy rainy day. me likey.
Didn't think I'd like this, but I kinda do. Keep the kooky covers coming, Bill.
This sounds like maybe it was a really good brain storm around the kitchen table...maybe wine was involved...but then just doesn't make it to the finish line. Sorry.
I can see the old RP peeps sitting in the rest home listening to this........oh brother......keep to the original!
Chris, where have you been?

I DON'T KNOOOW!
Different, but pretty good.
Yeah, but can she sing as high as he can?

Oh, that just answered the question!
This is kinda cute but just makes me think of commercials for mobile phones.
Bill, you have a knack for cover songs. I didn't see this one coming.
A great new take on A-Ha's hit!
