One of the best bands on our beautiful blue planet!  I had the pleasure of photographing them in '95.  Epic talents and perfect gentlemen.  <3
Some of the keyboard work reminds me of "Eat for Two" by the 10,000 Maniacs.

How you like it?

Saw them three times there and twice at Tiki Oasis. Absolute blast every time. I recommend getting your hands on everything they've done including the best Christmas album ever - Christmas on the Big Island.

nice
Always love surf rock!
Twang and dance !
"The Blue Hawaiians are a surf rock group from Los Angeles. They formed in 1994 to play at the opening of their friend Michelle's club, The Lava Lounge." and became the "house" band under the marketing scheme that they were Wayne Newton's backup band (they weren't).

Hula Girls reference?
Vurrrrry Niiiiize!
"The band also does music for the hit cartoon series SpongeBob SquarePants ..."  House band for an animated TV show?  Now that's a great gig!

Why, why, why, SO many instrumentals, Bill?

More instrumentals, Bill! The older I get, the less I want singing over the top of what might otherwise be good music.
This is a serious groove.

:-(
Much easier to write code with instrumentals in the background...

Somehow this reminds me of the old Batman TV series tune

Super kool  (hope the volcano calms down  : )
This is an 8 just on spec.

Why, why, why do instrumentals bother you SO much?

I have absolutely no problem with the amount of instrumentals played here. Some, or maybe most of the greatest music in history has been without vocals.

On the whole if I don't like a track much it's more likely to be because of the vocals than because of the instrumental backing. I usually find myself quite enjoying Cloud Cult songs until that geezer with the sprained pancreas starts singing, for example.
This run of songs is so radio perfect!

Very much like Dengue Fever.  Not really picking up on Dick Dale, except that it definitely has a surf vibe.

Nice Segue

4 or 24 too(oo) late...?
This band was so fun live, they played late into the night at our company party at a killer bar in Santa Barbara!
cheerful! {#Guitarist}
Why did I give this an 8?  It is as annoying as hell today, at most a 3.  Must be a mood thing - it will be back to an 8 next week.
..... four years to late for Pulp Fiction
Like it.   Easy 7
Dick Dale meets Dengue Fever.  Me likes.

Saw them there 3 times in the few years before The Lava Lounge was turned into The Woods. Also at Tiki Oasis 2010 and 2011. Awesome band, they just kill it live. And yes Christmas on the Big Island is the best Christmas CD EVER.

Cool beat!
I really don't know. It's as if the performers have such a refined concept of what classic surf music is, that the result of their approach somehow lacks a necessary ingredient. Maybe this is my mood at the moment, but as this piece kept going on, it's weaknesses became apparent.
Sounds like 'Apache' from The Shadows, but more soulful....
Sorry, but this is driving me nuts....so repetitive....
Named after a surf spot IIRC ...

Wow...  driving bass guitar...  cool lead guitar...  groovy electric organ...  this is awesome...  we be dancing...

Good stuff indeed.

Sweet indeed! Dick Dale meets Chris Isaac meets Peter Gunn meets the Derailers!  What a great set Bill's magic has rolling for us this morning!!!
Sweet !
