Hey there don't you know
We're all here and no-one's talking
Shaking like a leaf your arms they fall across my body
Brother I love you now but you were spoiled when we were growing
There's a heart that beats, but you know you don't show it now
Show it now
Show it now

There's a man stood over there
says that you still owe him money
Don't come that way with me
He's seen you, he's seen you drinking

The blues they may run the game
But you still take this darkness with you
Holding me to you
and they don't see no air between us
Holding me to you
And brother they don't see no difference, no
I'm not like you
I'm not like you

Hey there son the lies are going away
All the darkness roll with you
Hey there son, don't you know
You know my life it is tied to you
You know my life it is tied to you
You know my life it is tied to you
You know my life it is tied to you

Terrific tune: #8. The owl makes me think of Magnolia Electric Co. Jason Molina another soul lost too young.

Anyway. What's with the no eye wolls?

Excellent:

'Halstead ❤️ served as the touring guitarist for Sun Kil Moon on select European dates, including their appearance at the Primavera Sound festival'

Adore Mark Kozelek  ❤️

That would be, Nick Danger, Third Eye
It would sure be nice if there was someone besides amazon to send my money to for a copy of  this music.
Nick Drake meets John Martin.

Simply Neil Halstead, to my ear.

Not too keen on the tinkly piano.  Reminds me of an 80's keyboard player with the left arm swinging lazily in the breeze.  A few more fingers on the board might be nicer, for me anyway.

I disagree.  I think it's nicely done - the song is minimal so it doesn't need fat chords, though I would concede that it could have been selectively edited so that it was less present.

Agreed.
While admittedly there has been many more years to lose interest in the Nick Drake albums, I find myself still frequently going back to Neil Halstead's albums. From solo to Slowdive to Mojave3, Neil covers a lot of ground.

Hi its me Neil...I do not sound like a Dick

He's got it down pat... right down to the sad violin fills.

You mean the mood of rejoicing that Obummer is finally out of office and we can get around to fixing his screwups?  I guess I don't hear that in this song.

Oh dear lord, please tell me you don't really support the big orange buffoon?
Even the people who were somehow sucked into voting for him are now realizing what a complete moron he is.

Bill, you are nailing it for the mood of the country right now.

Bill, you are nailing it for the mood of the country right now.  Great radio:  programming smartly for those who are listening while saying nothing overt for those who are just playing the station without listening.

Totally. I was thinking exactly the same thing.

I've uploaded a few KJP tracks in the past, all rejected, unfortunately :-(
Loving this, for the same reasons as the better KJP choices, and Nick Drake of course - a very similar feel (which to achieve successfully, takes some real skill).
so melancholy....feeling the death of Keith Emerson deeply now.

thinking back to the several ELP concerts I went to and dragged my little sister along and at the end we walked down close to the stage hoping for a glimpse of the guys...    life sure is bittersweet.

My god your good...

trop beau.
The more I hear this, the more I can appreciate it, and the more it all sinks in; truly a deep, sad song, and it takes me where I've been...
This sounds like Paul Winter Consort.

If there's one thing I can't bear, it's bad viola intonation!!!

{#Biggrin} I know it might sound nit-picky. Still, at some parts it sounds so much off that I can't help it grabbing my attention. In a bad way.

The song in itself is not bad, but the awful intonation of the viola really drags it down.

Does anybody else hear the Game of Thrones theme music in the main riff?

9 Times in 30 Days, is this really that good?
Don't know the song or singer but was instantly drawn in at the start.  Good stuff.

Here's a palindrome— "no lemon no melon" backwards is "no lemon no melon"...

Yes...this fits my mood ATM. 8.

This album was made during and after Neil and his wife separating so many of the songs touch on that. Loss, death, anger so if you listen to it in that context, it makes more sense.

I personally think it's his best album yet, a true masterpiece. His voice has been given loads of space, the production (recorded in a school hall in just two days) is wonderful and his guitar playing (namely on Tied to You) is staggering.

Thanks.  I will keep listening.  I actually just realized I don't yet have his last one, I have the one before that, his first one, Sleeping on Roads, which is excellent.

Remedial piano part. Drony vocal. I like NH...but this is a bit disappointing.
