Lady Madonna
Children at your feet
Wonder how you manage to make ends meet

Who finds the money
When you pay the rent?
Did you think that money was heaven-sent?

Friday night arrives without a suitcase
Sunday morning creeping like a nun
Monday's child has learned to tie his bootlace
See how they run

Lady Madonna
Baby at your breast
Wonders how you manage to feed the rest

(Ba-ba-ba-baaa ba-ba ba-ba-baaa
Ba-ba-ba-baaa ba-ba baaa ba-baa ba-baa
Wa-ba-ba-baaa ba-ba ba-ba-baaa)
See how they run

Lady Madonna
Lying on the bed
Listen to the music playing in your head

Tuesday afternoon is never ending (ba-ba-ba-baaa)
(Ba-ba ba-ba-baaa)
Wednesday morning papers didn't come (ba-ba-ba-baaa)
(Ba-ba baaa ba-baa ba-baa)
Thursday night your stockings needed mending (ba-ba-ba-baaa)
(Ba-ba ba-ba-baaa)
See how they run

Lady Madonna
Children at your feet
Wonder how you manage to make ends meet

1968, who could imagine.
Whenever I hear this, I have always pictured it being performed on The Muppet Show... with chickens doing the backing chorus.
Grew up playing this album over and over, love this song. (Edit. Whatever albums it was that I was listening to…)
The Fab Four For Ever
respect the band but this is a weak effort.

Fair enough. The right eye wll forever distract, though. As will the shadow below the chin. Unfortunately.
MORE Beatles please. I can not un over hear this song but if I was hearing it fresh I would likely love it.

Use the PSD button. Just not that hard.

And RP doesn't play that much Beatles by any metric or perspective.

never enough Beatles...this one not my favorite tho...another fluffy Paul song
I miss Grace Under Fire.

Lately there has been too much Beatles!

Did any of the other Beatles play on this track? The drumming seems Paul-ish, and the piano and bass go without saying.

They're all playing on it according to Geoff Emerick's book and some other sources.
Next song please !!!!!! {#Frustrated}
"...See how they run (like pigs from a gun...")

First time I ever heard the word "breast" in popular music.
Might be the only time....
oops, no, actually. (In The Hiring Fair, by Fairport Convention.)

Yeah- it really does seem like he could have pulled off the 1-man band technique, complete with 1920's sounding vocals.

Love the film footage of this (from Anthology) when the song ends where McCartney picks up his suit jacket, slings it over his shoulder and casually walks out of the studio- like 'that's another in the can, I'll catch you guys tomorrow' type scenario! Piece of musical genius from a musical genius.
Also, spot the Gibson SG that Harrison is playing.. He later gave it to Pete Ham of Badfinger (a Beatles Apple Records signing) who played it on hits 'No Matter What', 'Day After Day' and 'Baby Blue'- think this band is long overdue an airing on RP..
pretty please!

It's taken this song 44 years to finally appear on Radio Paradise. I guess the Beatles have officially made it. Allow me to be the first to say so.

now if they'd only play oh darling...............................

ain't that the truth

This song is soooo marvelous...  love it...

I have this on Hey Jude vinyl...  it is sandwiched between three of my absolute favorite songs...

everybody in my church loves this song...

And it only took about 30 years for Sublime to totally rip this song off to make their biggest radio hit. Try singing the lyrics to Lady Madonna to Sublime's "What I Got"
I like that Bill put the 45 Picture Sleeve up for this single

Well, more like twelve years (the station has only existed since 2000), but I know what you mean.
Love the original '45' single sleeve!! {#Cheers}
Love that cover - truly fab!
One of my least favorite Beatles tunes, but still better than 99% of the music being put out today.
