Love the film footage of this (from Anthology) when the song ends where McCartney picks up his suit jacket, slings it over his shoulder and casually walks out of the studio- like 'that's another in the can, I'll catch you guys tomorrow' type scenario! Piece of musical genius from a musical genius.
Also, spot the Gibson SG that Harrison is playing.. He later gave it to Pete Ham of Badfinger (a Beatles Apple Records signing) who played it on hits 'No Matter What', 'Day After Day' and 'Baby Blue'- think this band is long overdue an airing on RP..

A few years ago Paul Simon was being interviewed by some reporter who mentioned one of Paul McCartney's later, and lesser, efforts. Simon said: "Yeah, but the man who wrote 'Lady Madonna' doesn't need to apologize for anything."
