Through the gardens and fields 'neath the tall green grass
You were walking 'neath the moon while covering your tracks
Working your fingers down to the skin and stone
One hand on the hammer, one foot by the door
Pushed by the wind, fed by the need for moving on,
Moving on to nowhere
When division runs deep and down into the well
All the coins you dove after lost all their spell
Covered in moss walking for silver and blood
Out in the cafe, working in the grove
Guarding the port of the future you sold
Holding on, holding on to no one
Holding on, holding on to no one
One eye in the mirror, the other on the screen
Sewn in the pockets and down into the dream
Caught up in the mortar, bricks and heavy load
Wait in the shadows down the living road
Moving on, moving on to no one
Holding on, holding on to no one
You were walking 'neath the moon while covering your tracks
Working your fingers down to the skin and stone
One hand on the hammer, one foot by the door
Pushed by the wind, fed by the need for moving on,
Moving on to nowhere
When division runs deep and down into the well
All the coins you dove after lost all their spell
Covered in moss walking for silver and blood

Moving on, moving on to no one

I love love love Calexico and drag my husband to see them live whenever they are in town. Their concerts are always so much fun! It's one of the few musicians on my phone that I never skip in a random shuffle.

I just happy that when I voted I saw the average vote score go up.
Is this the first big musical act to come out of Tucson, besides Linda Ronstadt? Great song.

This is one of the bands that drew me into RP. I'd heard a little of them before, but not some of their best stuff. Then I kept hearing Calexico on here, and every time I'd be making a note about whatever song it was.
I love this song's throwback sound, back to the 60s old rock sound

I like the horns. The lyrics seem repetitive.

Perhaps Mr. Trump could be similarly stimulated by this. That'd be perfect karma for a band with 'exico' in it.

Had to search the comments to find this thread before I made it myself.

What is this about?
When I first heard this I thought it some deep cut Neil Young song....
To all the folks expressing love, definitely catch them on tour. You will NOT be disappointed. Excellent show!
I've moved this up from a 9 to a 10. Love it.
I absolutely LOVE this tune!
Love love love Calexico. Thanks RP!

Saw them at the Palamino Festival last fall. They stole the show. No one even close.
I downloaded their discography. These dudes are legit...My favorite band I never heard of 2 yrs ago.....Love these guys!!! #behindthesun
nice!
these guys are most awesome..
I love them and I love horns. To me and probably many humans they are literally irresistible. Not that I am resisting. I too would not mind a little bit more variety of calexico played, though. So I could find myself irresisting even more.
They're good but I'm tiredof this album now.

Solid 8 from me. Great song to have blasting from the flybridge speakers while heading down the ICW.

Saw them last week at the O2 in Bristol... a great gig. Surprised (and delighted) by how much they played from Feast Of Wire. Great band, including two hot trumpeters (one of whom also played guitar, accordion and keyboards, often simultaneously - shouldn't be allowed). Brough a taste of the South to a cold and snowy UK.
You all have to go and see them.

Great track by a great band - been listening to it all weekend as it's on this month's covermount CD from Uncut magazine along with various other goodies - will have to invest in the whole thing (and hope to see them when touring the UK in February)
