This isn’t the worst, but couldn’t we just up the frequency on the original and call it done?
Ah, no.
I gave him a lift home in my car once, when I was the breakfast show presenter on the local commercial radio station in Guildford (in the early 80s) and he had come in to do an interview. Lovely bloke - gave me a cup of tea and showed me his ginormous TV. A memorable day :)

Well, actually Rick played on the Bowie original, but here is a bad Rick cover:

Bloody awesome...
Sounds a little muzaky to me.

Awesomely sweet piano playing. Thanks!
Although the original was great, this sounds like a poor cover by a lounge lizard at the holiday inn.
He is a great musician when playing with others but left to his own devices something is lacking.
Too many notes?
Sorry Rick.

Uh. for you youngin's, Rick played the fantastic piano on the original recording as well.

As well as Cat Stevens' "Morning Has Broken", while we're on the topic.
Suddenly my eyes close and the music transports me... to an elevator. Where I am stuck between floors. {#Eh}

Liberace Lives!

The thought crossed my mind...but Liberace was a little more florid in histylings. Not sure that Rick adds anything more to the tune than a piano bar professional would.

Oh look: Matt Damon and Michael Douglas are doing a Liberace biopic for HBO. How can I make sure  to miss that one...

Lemmoth: really? Rick played on the original? I only knew him from Yes albums, surrounded by stacks of keyboards and OTT gothy clothes. Will have to listen to Bowie and this version again.

A likeable cover - better than elevator music.

In what way?

2  Well I started out giving it a 2 but then I got a look at the album art. 1.
A master playing a song of another master, excellent !!!

Me too!  but we shouldn't go there

Bill, you *are* a cover junkie. I fully expect the next track in your playlist to be a Bowie tune. I know your ways. h/t :-)

Liberace Lives!

it's the freakiest show...

c'mon...you're singin' it in your head right now ...

aren't you?
