Battle scars and neon lights
She holds the flame
She owns the night
And she scars my soul

The road again
Strobe light highs
Paralyzed anesthetized
And she sold my soul

And I'm healing, healing
Healing from the blows
Yeah, I'm healing, healing
Healing from the blows
Yeah, I'm healing
Healing from the blows

Neon smiles narcotic light
The sulphur room
The hundreds nights
And she stole my heart

Cut of time
Reckless bleed
Sedated smiles
Kick the need
And she steals my soul

And I'm healing, healing
Healing from the blows
Yeah, I'm healing, healing
Healing from the blows
Yeah, I'm healing
Healing from the blows

And I'm healing, healing
Healing from the blows
Yeah, I'm healing, healing
Healing from the blows
Yeah, I'm healing
Healing from the blows

Reminds me of Arcade Fire's Black Mirror song.

Decent enough track 👍

And, by your memory description, you may very well already know... Ducky just died a short time ago. So sad. He was a good part of what helped make the program work!

i like this better every time i hear it.

A comment from 3 years ago .... and applicable now.

Thanks, RP, for the excellent, diverse selection of music for yet another trying time.

We'll come out on the other side, folks --- there is and will be pain/hardship, but we'll make it through!

Fantastic and unique band. Hope they make more music.

Basically Trip-Hop, especially the first two albums.

Then, Electronic-Rock? UK-Vocal-tronica? Whatever
Is he healing?

Interesting tune.

Sampled strings, I'd wager.

I absolutely love Unkle - thanks RP for introducing me. Does anyone know why James Lavelle never comes to the U.S.? I'd give my right arm...
These should be the lyrics (found on Mojim.com). I've only heard the song a few times & have not verified if they are perfectly correct, but they're a lot closer than what is on this page:

A website like AllMusic labels this as “Pop/Rock,” as they do with pretty much 90% of all music. They also assign a second genre ‘Electronic’ which probably includes anything with a synthesizer. They used to discern between Rock and Pop, but they even gave up on that.
I would suggest a more convenient genre: “Music”.

If this recording had been released in North America in 1940 it would have been a "Foxtrot".  Now there's a genre.

Wow. The Answer and this on one album. Brilliant.

Did Pink Floyd and Brian Jonestown Massacre make an album?  I love this unique sound....

Superb album!
My guess is that there is a light source but the film used is infrared film.

heh...brilliant. There is no "genre" here...just music, like it or PSD.

I like that.  I think we should call it just "eclectic" as the parent category. There is classical and there is eclectic.  That's it.

I really dislike this song.  Not exactly sure why but I suspect it is the lyrics.  Very, very, very, very, very, very, very, repetitive.
Took me a minute to figure out why it sounded like Clayhill.

Turned this one UP.
U.N.K.L.E is G.O.O.D.
I just got the album and it is VERY good, I was quite pleasantly surprised how good it is overall.  If you dig UNKLE - definitely get this one!
Unkle=good.....never hear this, hope to hear more....as always RP plays the good stuff

Good Lord, this is good...has that kind of sound, that kind of feel, of familiarity yet newness, that announces truly great talent bursting on the scene...Praise to RP for another invigorating turn-on to an otherwise possibly obscure brilliance!
thought 'twas Elbow for a sec...
Very cool tune.  I have not heard this Unkle disc but like the older ones.  Given the 2 comments so far - sounds like it's a good album overall?!
Agree, its an excellent disc.  I hope Bill will put this song, at least, into rotation.
