Here arise and say it's a honey (?)
All this light that daybreak brings
And the ancient bands that brung me
Till the bad where you sleeping safe

And we had agreed on Henry
Long before a flutter felt
And so it will be till memory
Makes a shadow of ourselves

And the reach (?) and the wrecks and the wrong
All would lead to believe that it's not
But it's foregone
It's foregone

Can it be that this is given
This awaking from long dark night
Of a soul so on and wizened
Sleep away to set to rights

And the reach and the wrecks and the wrong
All would lead to believe that it's not
But it's foregone
It's foregone
It's foregone, it's foregone

And the reach and the wrecks and the wrong
All would lead to believe that it's not
And the reach and the wrecks and the wrong
It's foregone
It's foregone
It's foregone
It's foregone

Carry on
Ooh carry on

I really really like this..  {#Daisy}
I discovered The Decemberists on R.P. I can't get enough. Picaresque is well on the way to being in my top twenty albums. While this is by no means the best Decemberists song, it's still pretty damn good.
Jeeze! Come on! That's the THIRD stupid Decemberists song today!!!!  Every time they sound off on RP, I sound off RP until they pass. Can't get to the volume control fast enough!!!!

I actually happen to be very fond of his voice — it's very appropriate for the types of songs that he sings. I particularly can't imagine anyone besides Colin Meloy singing tracks like "The Rake's Song" or "The Engine Driver." They just seem to suit the theatricality of his voice.

It actually is a b-side album.  These were songs cut from their 'king is dead' recording session.

No b-sides, a studio album.
True American folk artists! I love the Decemberists. I especially like the slide in this song.
Love them, it´s great.
