They got one eye watching you, one eye on what you do
So be careful who it is you're talking to
They got one eye watching you, one eye on what you do
So be careful what it is you're trying to do
And be careful when you're walking into view
Just be careful when you're walking into view

Oo-oo, oo-oo
Got one eye on the road and one on you
Oo-oo, oo-oo
Got one eye on the road and one on you

They got one eye watching you, one eye on what you do
So be careful cause nothing they say is true
No d-don't believe a word, it's just us against the world
And we just got to turn up to be heard
Hear the crocodiles ticking 'round the world
Hear those crocodiles ticking, they go ticking 'round the world

Oo-oo, oo-oo
Got one eye on the road and one on you
Oo-oo, oo-oo
Got one eye on the road and one on you
You could hear them climbing the stairs
I got my right side fighting while my left hides under the chairs

Ah
Ah

Oo-oo, oo-oo
Got one eye on the road and one on you
Oo-oo, oo-oo
Got one eye on the road and one on you

BTW Porcupine Tree could CRUSH this song.
Wow, Coldplay does a song that doesn't suck!

This one does show just how weak that guys voice is, though...

I don't know what it means, but I know what you mean.  8

What a riot —— the RP "muso patrol" is out.

I think this is a really good album. Like with all of their others, about half of it has found its way into our iPod.

For us, PT is the only other band right now with that kind of hit to miss ratio.

Are you kidding me!!!

What about Us against the world, Up in flames, UFO, Paradise and many others!!!

True, I do like UFO - reminds me of a B-side called I Bloom Blaum from the AROBTTH sessions (take that, casual Coldplay fans!).  As for the others:

Up In Flames - was apparently written in a day and wouldn't you know, it sounds just like it.

Paradise - sounds like something a producer could have written for a teen pop star.

Many others - Sorry, gave this album at least 10 full listens and nothing has staying power or depth.  The best song on the album would have been Moving To Mars, but it didn't make the cut.  The band stated that they have been listening to a ton of pop music for the past couple years and they wrote an album that sounds like what they like to listen to.
I do not enjoy that much pop, so maybe that's my problem.

Every song seems forced and over-manipulated (like Us Against The World, which sounds like a X&Y reject).  There are little flashes of brilliance (the cascading guitar solo on Hurts Like Heaven, or the refreshing weirdness of the first two minutes of Up With The Birds), but nothing memorable.  I bet you $100 internet dollars that in two years, RP isn't playing anything from the album, except maybe this track.

Haha seriously. Major Minus is my least favorite on the album. Hurts Like Heaven and Charlie Brown are the best. :)

Mixed emotions about Coldplay. I really like some of the music and respect their quality and consistency. Never experienced one, but understand their live shows are great. They seem to be generous and not self-destructive, which I value. And, despite appearances otherwise, they eschew commercialism for the most part. (Just because iTunes featured them and vice versa doesn't mean they sold out to the man as far as I'm concerned.) I put them with Pink Floyd, The Who, U2, et al.

Why the mixed emotions? Everything you noted there seems to be positive... especially grouping this mediocre band in with some of the best like Floyd and The Who.

what's the matter ?  never mind...it's over

The title of this song is a good description for the entire album. This is one of the better songs but it still sounds like a bunch of recent trendy bands in a blender. The songs that do sound typically ‘Coldplay’ on the other hand have the exact problem that they sound like everything they already did on previous albums…
Seems like all things Coldplay I'll ever need are their two first albums which I already have.

Coldplay's first album blew me away and I thought they and radioHead would be the best bands of their era.  Then they became an increasingly bad pop group, fronting as a rock band.  RH has continued to amaze me at every turn.  Have to say that what I heard on this album I like and I am hoping they are making a change for the better.
I really like everything they've done, until now. I don't like this album.{#No}

These guys have sure gotten a load of publicity for this album. I still like Parachutes, but are they U2 Redeaux?
The only good song on the album....
Coldplay: Less vocals -> better.
