Shadows
Now curtain the moon
But faith swears
It will shine again soon
Shine with love
You've been hiding from me

Your kiss
Has hindered the day
A longing
That won't go away
You just keep knocking
And waking my heart
Like daylight chasing the dark

I can exist being caught by your kiss
Willingly
Or grant you control
Of my body and soul
Ask it and so it shall be

Shadows
Now curtain the moon
Still faith swears
It will shine again soon
Shine with love
You've been hiding from me
With that love
You've been hiding from me

I can exist being caught by your kiss
Willingly
Or grant you control
Of my body and soul
Ask it and so it shall be
Ask it and so it shall be

I'm in love with it...
Wow... a lot of great comments for k.d.  I just think she is smooth...
KD has the complimentary vocal range to my voice. I get shivers harmonizing to her songs.
k.d. is one of only a couple of lesbians who make the hair on my arms stand up. I remember encountering her on PBS the same night Natalie Merchant was the musical guest on SNL. I hadn't heard of either them at the time but I immediately knew who would be the bigger success (Nat) but who was the greater talent (k.d.). The latter performed "Down To My Last Cigarette." All I remember about Natalie was that she kept spinning around as she sang. Gimmicky I thought. Still do.

Well put. Ingenue is her finest effort, IMO.
I saw her play at Strathmore in Bethesda, MD last month.  They performed the entire Ingenue album....  Fabulous!
Beautiful, not heard for a long while
A few weeks ago I saw her perform at The Beacon Theatre on Broadway and she was fabulous!

I used to work at a television production studio with a very beautiful but very quiet young lady. I tried many times to make a connection with her but never could think of what to talk about. Then one day I mentioned KD Lang and her eyes lit up. This album was out at the time. Needless to say we began a six-month fabulous affair that only ended when she moved back home to her home state. But every track on this album holds significance about that time in my life.

Thanks for for playing it. Thinking about you Laurie....
wonderful 8, first track of hers i have ever listened to very nice surprise
Marvelous...
Her voice is beyond amazing.
Wow
(I wish I were articulate)
i just bumped it from 7 to 8
always loved her voice

(edit) had to hear this again so i looked up the YouTube video
very very good for both the ears and eyes

I'll have to check the disc out again...

I lived in a group house with a rotating cast of characters when this came out. Some of the smarter, more mature women in the house were really into KD (and sad songs. One gal in particular would often joyously exclaim as a tune started up, "Oh, this is the saddest song!").

This album appealed back then but I would likely appreciate it more now...
Used to play this album to help my daughters fall asleep, in a falling-down room I rented in a ramshackle house out in the country. The room had windows lining one wall, and the evening breeze would wash over us all as this played. A high point in a difficult time of life.
gosh - quit my job and started my own business working out of the house when our first child was born in '91.

This album came out and I used to rock him to sleep to it…..
Amazing voice...

This CD helped to soothe my first son in his crib. Quieting and soft, it was the soundtrack to many of his naps. He is now in his first semester of college. Wow.

What a wonderful memory! I heard this song and it took me back to when this album came out. I was just out of college and "Constant Craving" was getting lots of play. That lovely song prompted me to buy this cd.....K.D. is so soothing on this album, and hearing this song took me back to that time of wondering what was ahead of me....so many years ago.....yet it doesn't seem so long ago.

Love her voice...{#Music}

And re-ditto to all that you have all just acknowledged. I have k.d. in my collection but I forget to dial her up-like most of my other music. Bill and Rebecca just do it for me--and most of us. And now I'm hearing Billie and just as enamoured as I was with k.d. Who wouldn't pay a pittance for having a mini-me at the turntable, or whatever they call it now!!

Tom Waits followed by Little Feat followed by k.d. - thanks for the warm fuzzies. This is why I support RP.

Looking for the LIKE button. She is amazing live. Good Canadian girl!
Have you heard her version of Leonard Cohen's Halleluja? Purely amazing. Talk about the right voice hitting the right song.

I agree!
her voice always gives me goose bumps.   I remember listening to her interview on the Peter Gzowski show in early 80's  - back when she wore the old wedding dresses... and singing the Patsy Cline tunes.
Twenty years later....I still swoon! Thank you RP for unearthing bits of my past, bringing a song to my lips, and memories to my mind.

The only thing missing from RP's comment system is the ability to mute users.

Killer tune - but its taking my workout to a heavy place. (No pun)
Love the arrangements for this and most of the other tracks from this album. kd's singing is unmatched!
