Arcade Fire's vocals have a blandness that just doesn't do it for me. (Although can happily listen to Steely Dan, Mark Knopler, Neil Young and others.  So I'm sure not consistent.)

Okay, this ending is completely unlike what I have on the vinyl... I rated this a 7, then this new ending began and it immediately became an 8!

This must be from the extended version of the album they released.  I haven't heard it until now, and it corrects one of the only mistakes (IMO) on the album.  The first version of this they released has a really awkward and fast fade out.  This full version sounds a lot more natural.
