The words that fell out of my mouth were like poison in the air
Until I spoke them, I believed there were no doubts going spare
And anything was possible if I didn’t live in fear,
But I’m already missing you, even though you are still here

Balancing on needles and pins,
Holding on too tight,
I know I’m going to break your skin
Going to break your skin

You looking at me now I feel I could do no wrong
You are just too precious to lose, soon you could be gone
I wish I didn’t know that one day I would make you cry
To mirror who you think I am, I’m going to tell white lies

Balancing on needles and pins,
Holding on so tight,
I know I’m going to break your skin
Going to break your skin
Your beautiful skin,
Going to break your skin

(Tik-tok, tik-tok, tik-tok)
I can’t stop it,
(Tik-tok, tik-tok, tik-tok)
This heart is going to self-destruct

Balancing on needles and pins,
Holding on so tight,
I know I’m going to break your skin
Going to break your skin
Your beautiful skin,
Going to break your skin
Usually, if I really dislike a song, it's because of they way it sounds. In this case, it sounds fine, but the lyrics make my skin crawl. Horrible.
A terribly inept musical metaphor. Bill.  If you'd ever had a friend turn junkie, you'd never play this cut.  Hopefully, you'll never play it again.  Gave it a 2.
Music is OK, lyrics are painful...make it stop {#Crashcomp}
this is painful, please make it stop
Cool song. Surprised it's only rated 6.2.

Well, I thought she just meant holding someone so tight that their skin could break. I just love this song.

The lyrics seems to be implying that she said something so bad that it would "break your skin". I guess that means she hurt the other person. But breaking skin usually connotes physical violence or (metaphorically) perhaps sex. The lyrics seem inappropriate and rather disturbing in my view. But the music is fairly good & her voice is nice, so I give it a 6. Better luck next time.

I thought it was Sade till I looked.

VERY GOOD! VEEEERY!
Music from the UK...........I really like her sound, and the lyrics are so poetic.  Thanks Bill.
I wish I didn't know that one day I would make you cry. . .
Fantastic. It's getting introduced to music like this that keeps me coming back to Radio Paradise again and again.

Wow - just during the time I liked this song and gave it a 7, I was searching for lyrics and liked it even more, so bumped it to 8.  She's got a phenomenal voice!

Still looking for lyrics to "Break Your Skin," but yep - they're pretty non-existent so far.  I'll keep trying... I love a challenge.{#Sunny}

Just checked the Wikipedia page. Wow. I thought I recognized the voice from Morcheeba. But I had no idea she had such righteous musical past. Excellent!
Rather weird cover - did not say "bad" - just said acid.
Never heard of Judie "the Japanese" Tzuke.

Sounds good - no question!

Break my skin...? You dare!!!

Man, these lyrics are impossible to find - not on her site or any of the usual places. Anyone got 'em?
Ooops, did i press 9. Sorry, just a huge fan.
