Should I fall out of love, my fire in the light
To chase a feather in the wind
Within the glow that weaves a cloak of delight
There moves a thread that has no end.

For many hours and days that pass ever soon
The tides have caused the flame to dim
At last the arm is straight, the hand to the loom
Is this to end or just begin?

All of my love, all of my love
Oh, all of my love to you now
All of my love, all of my love
Oh, all of my love to you now.

The cup is raised, the toast is made yet again
One voice is clear above the din
Proud Arianne one word, my will to sustain
For me, the cloth once more to spin.

Oh, all of my love, all of my love
Oh, all of my love for you now
All of my love, all of my love
Yes, all of my love to you, child.

Yours is the cloth, mine is the hand that sews time
His is the force that lies within
Ours is the fire, all the warmth we can find
He is a feather in the wind.

Oh, all of my love, all of my love
Oh, all of my love to you now
All of my love, oh-oh
Yes, all of my love to you now.

All of my love, all of my love
All of my love, love
Sometimes, sometimes, alright
Sometimes, sometimes, oh, all
Hey-hey-hey, hey-hey-hey
Ooh, ooh, yeah,
It's, all, all, all, all, all of my love, all of my love
All of my love to you now
All of my love, all of my love
All of my love
To, to you and you and you and you and yeah
I get a little bit lonely, just a little, just a little
Just a little bit lonely, just a little bit lonely
Hey, hey, hey, hey...

Let me see if I understand how it works: Play some songs here of great singer Bettye Lavette, was a temporary experiment that failed? There is no place in the playlist for this singer? because there are many new songs from the artists 2nd and 3rd choice for display?

The fact that we all really like the RP, does not mean having ceased to be critical sense.
I refer to some of the extracts of music and musical styles, which are not properly appreciated and valued by the listeners. And here there is some responsibility for production, that is constantly "channel" the attention, too much, for so-called "soft-rock" (that is trendy screams), and then when you try to "inject" more authors who require hearing demanding, people are surprised. And then if they are not well known authors, there exists a "shock" on the assessments and ...... same time that the production tries to arouse people's attention to authors in the areas of folk, ethnic, african, latin, world music, celtic, country, jazz, blues, etc., the ears of the some listeners seem to suffer a panic attack and momentarily fade .....
Well, it seems that the programming "ideal" would be to give equal exposure proportional to all types of music (even at the expense of losing some listeners usual, but make many others).
As an author before composing a new song, has no guaranteed recipe for success, so the radio also does not know the right recipe.
Still, I have to acknowledge (and thank) for the RP is probably making more effort to the criterion that just spur, on the international radio stations.
And you have no illusions, the majority of interested listeners, are not even registered and have never written a single line in the comments on these pages and never given a score to a song. Listen, enjoy or "stand up" in silence the arrival of "their song" and never protest.

Yeah. This is very irritating at the start of work day, too.

I don't particularly like this version either, but she's been recording music for almost 50 years - what line of work would you tell her to get into?

Betty LaVetty needs a new line of work. Sorry, but the voice is just so not right for this.

It is pretty dreadful.

No. I had hoped to like this, but, no.
I'm not sure if I truly like it yet or not, but it's better than the original, and if it fails, it at least fails in an interesting way.
She blows chunks with that squeeeeeky ass tone...... But the band always rocks. fa sho!
This is so ugly-sounding that I had to log-in and plead for its playlist removal!! It stops us in our tracks!!
Wow!!.........I thought I would never see the day when my wife turned Down the speakers listening to RP.
I agree that this beats LZ's version (all of In Through the Out Door is pretty damned lame), but on its own merits . . . this is still damned bad.
I was so looking forward to this album, but I can barely stand to hear what she does to her voice.
Her version of "Iron Man" rocks.
great cover - what I like - interpretation making it her own
OooKey,heard it,no need to hear it again.

To me it sounds like the electrocution scene in Lethal Weapon. Go Endo!

Hate it!

Not as much growl to the voice.

yikes!
(although the ending gets a bit more into a groove)

Despite my love of JPJ's synth solo on the original, Bettye's interpretation takes something that was, at least for LZ, limp and flaccid and injects it with a dose of much needed emotion. Yeah, maybe a bit screechy, but I'll take that over LZ's plodding rendition any day.

Nice take on the song. {#Music}
NO, thank you.

Rate this a 1.
Nice. I knew I knew the song but it took me a while to place it.
Interesting. Not Bettye's best, but always worth a listen. Her cover of Joan Armatrading's "Down to Zero" is great!
No way!  I did NOT even recognize it until Bill said Led Zeppelin.  Quite a different rendition.  A bit too screech-ey for my taste.
nicely done.
Thanks Bill! I was curious about this release since I'd only heard her version of The Who's "Love Reign O'er Me".

Her participation on NPR's "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me" last Saturdaywasgreat fun.  Apparently she was exposed to about 500 British Invasion tracks, which they narrowed down to 12...only 7 or 8 of which she had heard before.
So far this isn't doing it for me...
(except the instrumental break was a brief respite)

I'd like to hear her do "Rock and Roll", I don't think her gravely voice is well suited for this song.
Love her voice, powerful.  Has the chutzpa to take these songs and make them her own.  Loved her work with the Truckers as well.
i am intrigued by the songs she chose to cover, and would definitely like to hear those at some time.
Wow!  I didn't think that song could get worse than the original version!  Shows what I know!  LMAO!!!
Sounds like Tina Turner?

Same with me {#Yes}
nice, i love interpretations like this—-hey, that's what the album's called!  (I just wish it would've had a blazin' solo of it's own) during the solo parts.

Sounds so different.  It took me a moment to recognize it.  Cool beans.

No a bad cover so far... may take a few listens. gotta trust Bill's judgement on this one
