Lyrics:

Oh hello
Sorry, I didn't recognize your face
It's funny, hey
How this all fits into place
I'm sorry, but what was your name again?
I've forgotten about the time where we were friends

Chameleon
Chameleon
How are you today?
Its been quite a while since I saw you yesterday

Chameleon
Chameleon
God, I hope, I hope that this is right
I don't know who I'm talking to tonight

Oh hey
Are you talking to me?
I couldn't tell
For your lack of empathy
Its funny hey
How this all fits into place
What was your business here
You've had me once and you won't have me again

Chameleon
Chameleon
How are you today?
Its been quite a while since I saw you yesterday

God, I hope, I hope that this is right
I don't know who I'm talking to tonight
There's a video of the original Monty Python sketch on YouTube. Very funny, with a nice follow-up sketch on sheep :o)

I never realized how much style Terry Pratchett borrowed from Python until I saw this.  I guessed Pratchett and was wrong (upon looking it up).  Nice low notes on the bass part too.
yuck!

I concur most fervently.
Poe covers Portishead poorly.
Why does RP continue to play this song daily?

Voice inflection reminiscent of American Idol.  Yuck.
I rather like the cover art, perhaps more than the song itself.

But I think this might be a grower.
Interesting interpretation and arrangements ... her voice ... lyrics a tad teenage-rish ... was not aware of the band ... main reason I listen to RP ... Thanks Bill!
Very sweet voice, yet with a dark edge. I thought at first that this was Poe in a contemplative mood. 7 from the Nottingham jury.
