reminds me of Archive, sweet nostalgic 90's sound
I think this must be out of rotation - it's in my favourites but no comments for a year.
It was lovely to hear it again
EXCELLENT!!   RP Introduced me to them, and now I like a lot of their music!  Thanx RP!  PS: their name reminds me of an old broadcast band, shortwave radio station LOL!

Nothing like having All India Radio in the background while concentrating on a difficult task.

...or while painting! Not as difficult but potentially boring, especially without music

I adore the symphonic qualities of this, and how it builds to such a satisfying intensity... I never get tired of hearing it!
How have I missed this until now? Thanks RP!
Inexorable. Nicely so. Thanks for playing it.
Very close to the Cure‘s Lullaby…great song, anyway.
Stay you are not alone...I wish those lyrics would have resonated with a friend I lost to suicide.
Artwork is very Muse-Origin of Symmetry
This song makes me feel like i just woke up in an abandoned hospital somewhere, 28 days later style. Its oddly a situation i would be quite comfortable with...

The album cover looks delicious.
Really enjoying this. Thanks RP.
Where but Radio Paradise?
This is a great find, it deserves to be on the main playlist more IMHO.
:)

I *love* this song.

It's sexy and relaxing.  I listen to it while riding my bike on a beautiful day (lots of them here in hot Houston) and contemplating my fit in the world among the bunnies, deer, and armadillos. And when I welcome my friend from Europe back to his homeland of America in five days, it will be played in the middle of the night.

I think I have to bump up my rating from 7 to 8 on the strength of that comment/image.
Ok B&R-R&B- BRM - or another machine nation . I’m hear, I’d love to chat, Track my usage & you’ll know where I’m from...
Really like this!
Yes.  This is whyI listen to RP!
Nice!

Good driving music
I could quibble and say " Hey - I've already heard this band in the last 7 hours - albeit a different track". Or I could celebrate that I can sit at my jewellers bench at work and have 7 hours of Eclectic Mix for my day's soundtrack.
All Hail Radio Paradise!
There's a similar band to this called in Australia called Ostia, less well-known certainly but perhaps even better.  Much like Lycia, another darkwave band. The singer might be found on Etsy and in 2011 at least she was giving CDs away for free
Simply beautiful !! U are not alone ...firefly🤘
Every time I listen to the bass line, I sing along...

What do you do with a drunken sailor...
What just happened, Old Laughing Lady > Four Three

That was the most seamless mix I've ever heard. Bill (or Rebecca or whoever is responsible for that), you're a DJ ninja. You just earned yourself another donation. Nice work!
5 to 7 .. growing on me
even better than dead poets society...
Loving that base line.
GREAT segue out of Young's The Old Laughing Lady into this. Niiice
fantastic tune!

As in architecture, repetition in music can be interesting and effective when done well.
First impression:  Love this.
This song is a perfect reason why I love RP... awesome (8)
cool, calm and collected. . . beautiful guitar

Kind of a drag...but enjoyable....but too much repetition....but nice transition from AC - inch X inch

"Down-tempo" and "trip-hop" tend to employ more repetition; it's generally an element of the genres.  The groove is more important than the transitions.
love it
Mark Knopfler?

Well here's another example of a tune that, at my first listening, I nonchalantly rated a 6...oh boy was I way off!  I've upped it to a 9 this morning.

LONG LIVE RP!!

Radio Paradise. The Soundtrack to My Life.
definitely a grower, great atmosphere.

My ears perk up to anything with driving bass

+ soft, breathy female voices here :) Nice one, I can definitely imagine it being used in some sci-fi movie - I think its sadness would have fitted right in in "The Fountain". Found something new today, thanks Bill!

Thanks, just looked at the Winamp and realised that the 'apply' button was off............so much betta!

Excellent !!!
Wow didn't catch the transition from Elvis Costello at first.....NICE!!!!

It's possible that both covers were designed by the same person...or not. I haven't been able to find out.  Anyhow, cool tune.
I think of AIR's stuff as Ambient-electronica but this is more like a standard song, err instrumental piece.

I've never liked the idea of "if you like this you'll like that" - musical tastes are generally not that consistent. Personally, this lot remind me a bit of Hooverphonic (defined by some as 'trip-hop' though I've no idea wtf that is) but I wouldn't say that if you liked this you'd like Hooverphonics.

Good point.  That sums up why Pandora does not work for me.
Good hypnotic bass !

"downtempo", eh?

Officer, I was adjusting the volume on my downtempo music....

Very nice...love the strings!
really liked.

I always think this is Hooverphonic (which is a good thing) — and I guess from reading the comments, I am "..not alone..."!
A great cover and nothing more.
very nice.

This is a fine example of the sub-genre of electronic music referred to as Downtempo.  It's closely related to trip-hop, so despite not knowing wtf it is, you've shown that you recognize some elements of it! :)

caught them again > 8
Caught my ear...nice. 7.

The band's name caught my attention. The incredibly eclectic and brilliant album Escalator Over the Hill, by Carla Bley and an amazingly broad selection of musicians has a song by this name. Any band with this as an influence has got to be rather unique.  Among the performances on this album are several guitar pieces  by John McLaughlin that are about as powerful as any guitar solos anywhere. This is as obscure as compositions go, these days, but if the combination of Jack Bruce, Chalie Haden, Linda Ronstadt, Gato Barbieri, and way too many others sounds intriguing, it's worth checking out. Not easy listening, but where's the fun in that?

Thank you...

Liking this. The guitar before the vocals reminds me a lot of Avalon era Roxy Music.
Nice. I'd program it between God is an Astronaut and Apocalyptica.

That's the better album cover . . . for me.
Groovy...
can you play Free Four before or after?
Great album art. About the music, sorry to say, crap.

Very nice!!

I have heard two songs from this group on Radio Paradise, and I am digging both of them, can I assume the rest are just as good?

...their earlier albums are more instrumental and atmospheric - extended mood pieces, really - but their more recent work began to shift in a songlike direction with this album...it's all good music, a bit benign, but great in moderate doses...
Nice! Never heard them before. Very Air-y.
Nice track!  I love the shifting EQ on the drum intro.  More, please!

Great
This followed JA "Somebody to Love" and if one suspends one's sense of reason for a moment at the beginning, it sounds a bit like Jefferson Airplane and "The Ventures in Space" updated a bit. To me, anyway!

Music to float weightlessly over a field of daisies by.
Nice!
Do we get to hear "Free Four" from Floyd next?
oooohhhhmmmmm :)
...and absolutely fabulous cover art, too.
Suddenly I feel so zen...{#Meditate}
I feel happy when I hear this song. {#Daisy}
Sounds like a continuance of Life in Mono. Good gettin it on musak, Bill!
Very fine.  Thumbs up from the Central Oregon jury!
{#Curtain}  Two One {#Bounce}
Love it! {#Music} Nice addition to RP.

Cool!  Play it again!
Very nice.
Yup, I dig it. Good work, Mr. Bill!
