There's a similar band to this called in Australia called Ostia, less well-known certainly but perhaps even better.  Much like Lycia, another darkwave band. The singer might be found on Etsy and in 2011 at least she was giving CDs away for free

"Down-tempo" and "trip-hop" tend to employ more repetition; it's generally an element of the genres.  The groove is more important than the transitions.

This is a fine example of the sub-genre of electronic music referred to as Downtempo.  It's closely related to trip-hop, so despite not knowing wtf it is, you've shown that you recognize some elements of it! :)

The band's name caught my attention. The incredibly eclectic and brilliant album Escalator Over the Hill, by Carla Bley and an amazingly broad selection of musicians has a song by this name. Any band with this as an influence has got to be rather unique.  Among the performances on this album are several guitar pieces  by John McLaughlin that are about as powerful as any guitar solos anywhere. This is as obscure as compositions go, these days, but if the combination of Jack Bruce, Chalie Haden, Linda Ronstadt, Gato Barbieri, and way too many others sounds intriguing, it's worth checking out. Not easy listening, but where's the fun in that?

...their earlier albums are more instrumental and atmospheric - extended mood pieces, really - but their more recent work began to shift in a songlike direction with this album...it's all good music, a bit benign, but great in moderate doses...
