Is it enough to have some love
Small enough to slip inside a book.
Small enough to cover with your hand
Because everyone around you wants to look

Is it enough to have some love
Small enough to fit inside the cracks
The pieces don't fit together so good
With all the breaking and all the gluing back

And I am still not getting what I want
I want to touch the back of your right arm
I wish you could remind me who I was
Because every day I'm a little further off

But you are, my love, the astronaut
Flying in the face of science
I will gladly stay an afterthought
Just bring back some nice reminders

And is it getting harder to pretend
That life goes on without you in the wake?
And can you see the means without the end
In the random frantic action that we take?

And is it getting easy not to care
Despite the many rings around your name
It isn't funny and it isn't fair
You've traveled all this way and it's the same

But you are, my love, the astronaut
Flying in the face of science
I will gladly stay an afterthought
Just bring back some nice reminders

I would tell them anything to see you split the evening
But as you see I do not have an awful lot to tell
Everybody's sick for something that they can find fascinating
Everyone but you and even you aren't feeling well

But you are, my love, the astronaut
Flying in the face of science
I will gladly stay an afterthought

But you are, my love, the astronaut
Flying in the face of science
I will gladly stay an afterthought
Just bring back some nice reminders

Yes you are, my love, the astronaut
Crashing in the name of science
Just my luck they found your upper half
It's a very nice reminder
It's a very nice reminder

And you may be acquainted with the night
But I have seen the darkness in the day
And you must know it is a terrifying sight
Because you and I are living the same way

It looks like this one's been killed, but anyway: She raised 1.2million dollars on kickstarter but wants musicians to play for free when she comes to town.

If I'm Bill Bryson, I'm suing.
Appalling
Everything that could go wrong with progressive rock has gone wrong with this track—and the androgynous voice isn't helping.

Yes! And Amanda F. Palmer is an amazing performer. I'd love to hear "Map of Tasmania" on RP.   {#Tongue-out}

In the three years I've been listening to Radio Paradise this is officially the first song I've hated.
A resounding 1 from me.
Very nice to have Tori Amos follow Amanda Palmer. Radio Paradise is revealing their love of romance and intrigue.

... and what does that say about all the other babes women in Boston?  I'm changing my vacation plans right now.

Yes, he sure is!

First time hearing it, it's quirky yet really good! {#Eek}
A resounding 2 if I ever heard one.

ok, so I went and checked out KY.  Interesting.  Amanda "ripped her act off" ?  No, not at all.

I saw her live as the Emcee in Cabaret, in which she wears white pancake and black lipstick. Her evil clown emcee face will haunt my dreams. (The show was awesome though)
This really is just very terrible.

goodnight moon -> sky is falling -> is there a ghost -> astronaut

...hell of a set this morning!..
The interplay of comments between April 22, 2010 and June is so hysterically funny, I can't quite believe it.  I don't even know how to put them in one place, but if someone could cut and paste the whole "sold a piano/sold a baby" exchange, it would make my entire year. Thank you, to all who participated in it - you're the kind of folks with whom I need to populate my life...  {#Lol}{#Group-hug}

I try to be as accepting as I can of world music.  There's only one kind I don't like:  Chinese Opera.  It sounds like an abomination to me.

This, on the other hand, is kinda awesome.  Kudos to her for being so frakking awesome.  I hope to be as awesome as her, someday.

Nice, nice!

And then Sing by Travis.

what is the trainspotting song that the intro of this is ripping off completely?

(EDIT) — oh nevermind i just found it... its 'Sing' by Blur...so superior. bill should play this sometimes.

Wow! That's a rouser after the narcolepsy of Sigur Ros. This sure is an intriguing song, which I suspect you either love or loathe. I could grow to love it. Only on RP :)

Refer to the work of Dresden Dolls, Amanda Palmer's previous collaboration and her theatrical work. More of a case of the over earnest theatre student than an attempt at recapturing youth - although why anyone would try to recapture youth instead of scraping it off their shoe as a survivable misstep is a mystery to me.

Giving her wayyyy too much credit. Siouxsie and Diamanda are both real originals. This? Not at all.
Oh, the drama.

I was half listening and I  could have sworn I heard Robert Smith.  That's not a knock, I like this a lot.

I'm digging this song.  Her voice sounds very familiar to another singer I've heard (or her in another band), but I can't place it.

Edit:  Oh, Dresden Dolls!  Duh.

This is interesting.  I think I like this.  I do get the Cure comparison, although for me that's not a bad thing.  I'm also getting a bit of Meatloaf.
I'll have to give this one another chance when I don't have a week-old sinus headache . . .

Cure, for one. But it's bloody awful

Ya know, that Florence and the Machine Girl with One Eye track drives me up the wall but this I like.  Go figure.  7

Not to bad, will see if it grows on me...
