Never read Proust
Seems a little too long
Never used the hammer
Without somehow using it wrong
I've got time on my hands
That I can't wash off
I'm guzzling vitamin C but
I can't shake this cough

Walls are closing in
They often do
I'm seeing double and triple
Does this ever happen to you?
I don't have to make it rain
But I never argue with improving the view

Never wear a helmet
When I'm riding a bike
Never recall a face
To me, they all look alike
I've got a hole in my brain
Where what I meant to say lives
I'm livin' in the past
The gift that gives and gives

Walls are closing in
They often do
I'm seeing double and triple
Does this ever happen to you?
I don't have to make it rain
But I never argue with improving the view

Sometimes
In the future tense
I hope that you are safer
Put up an electric fence
Then and only then
We can all get along
Get it down in writing
Judge Judy tell me if I'm wrong
Walls are closing in
They often do
I'm seeing double and triple
Does this ever happened to you?
I don't have to make it rain
But I never argue with improving the view

At some point it does indeed sound like a feeline got it's tail caught in the organ gears... Other than that quite...RP'esque :)

Had to double check that this wasn't Keller Williams. Has that Freaker by the Speaker kind of groove.

Wow, a Keller Williams reference. I ended up getting a copy of his album Home and liked it very much.

I hated this last time and gave it a 1.  I quite like it today.  WTF?
The Kinks channelled, accompanied by a MM&W organ break, as noted by others. Tres likeable.

I must say, I really dig the mid-song Medeski, Martin, and Wood-like organ jag — that was pretty far out, man!  Always loved this band!

Through the open window I can hear a crow "singing". It wonderfully fits in with the organ sound. Probably it's just my imagination that the crow is singing along. But I like the idea.
Lit her, sooths.. sea sighs..

This is why I listen to RP.
This made me get up and dance immediately...yes, I say.

Much as you and I spar, I admire your grit and love of literature for reading through that work again...I only got 100 pages or so into the first book and got distracted.

You should post your thoughts on "In Search of Lost Time." You probably have some great insights. Give it a thought, seriously.

I'm sorry, rdo. To the people who love them, cats are so much more than pets .
Like the groove!

Very beginning made me think it was Sensitive Kind - JJ Cale.  This tune was okay but, maybe a bit disappointing since it wasnt the great tune I was expecting.
very annoying organ
Its great when one of your uploads gets played {#Bounce}
The Doors on back up. Sans Mr. Morrison, of course.
You have been waiting a long time to play that particular card haven't you...

This is def Gary Shandling's best song.
Likin' the lyrics!
Brings to mind some of the music from the Napoleon Dynamite soundtrack.  This is good but not that good.
I miss my cat.
Funky Monkey{#Drummer} Love it
This is groovy in the nerdiest kind of way possible. And I like it! {#Dance}
a most excellent groovy tune! {#Bananajam}

The "cassette" and other objets d'art on the CD's interior are constructions, miniature sculptures if you will, made of some very surprising bits of almost everything. Interview with the artist, Dario Robleto: https://pitchfork.com/news/36087-take-cover-yo-la-tengos-ipopular-songsi/

they have it indeed...
Any band that has the brass cajones to name an album "I am not afraid of you and I will Beat your Ass" is ok in my book.

... Is that a Hammond organ, Doll?

Don't think so, Sugar.  Someone identified this as a Farfisa compact; all I know is that's too thin a sound for a Hammond B3.  Hammonds have a big throaty sound, as in deep South gospel, Jimmy Smith (jazz), or Allman Brothers first album — article here, and here.  The variable-speed rotating Leslie speaker cabinet (actually the internal speaker horns did the spinning) produces a vibrato sound when driven at high speed, and a dirty, gutter-dwelling growl when rotated slowly.  Rock/Blues players often strip away the speaker cabinet walls to expose the rotating horns, I think intentionally to mesmerize audience members that have partied a bit much.

Not that I'm an expert; just a big, big fan of their sound.  Especially that low, nasty growl.  It's mesmerized me often enough.
Si, papa, ya lo tienes!  {#Dancingbanana_2}

Organ sounds like something out of 'The Ghost and Mr. Chicken.'

reminds me of something I'd hear on 'Laugh In' with some funky chicks grovin to the beat

I saw them too that night and agree they rocked this song and put on a great show. Fun summer night...
I'm trying to figure out if that's a cassette of a real album on the cover photo.  So far, the songs appear to read "Ghosts Don't Always Want to Come Back" and "Hippies and a Ouija Board" I think. But Google fails me.  Fake album, I guess?
YLT's groovy tune! (available for download for free from their website—at least it was last time I checked) {#Cool}

Farfisa Compact.

I like the last minute of this song....Took a while to get something going, then it ends {#Stupid}
When I first heard this, I thought it was "Wag the Dog" by Mark Knopfler - it has the same slow, slinky beat and sly vocals. I wish someone would upload "Wag the Dog."  It's an amusing song.  I like this one, too, though - very psychedelic-sixties. {#Bounce}

Great song. I would like to suggest adding "Season of the Shark" to the playlist. I love the vibe evoked by that song.
"say the word and you'll be free..."
...masterfully produced...
Lou Reed meets Dovovan
Tinges of Donovan...
Sorry, just sorry.
This song makes me happy and nostalgic for 60s music. So, I open RP to remind myself again of who's playing. With a smile, I look upwards on the page in the Now Playing box and see that it's about to segue into an Old 97s POS, and I cringe in pain. Sometimes, you suck real hard, RP.

Getting to like this lot.
rp1125 from March 2010... I'm groovin' round my house. Wearing my go-go boots and fall..and doin' the Frug! Is that a Hammond organ, Doll?

gorgonzola!
I like the tune and the simplicity and familiarity of the cover art. Good stuff.
kick it

Most likely, sounds exactly like Stevie Winwood's tone from his days in Traffic.
Love this album and these guys!
A song that calls for an extended rating system!

It deserves a -5.
I came in here to rate this a 7.  Then the organ solo kicked in.

{#Arrow} 8
{#Dancingbanana}  loving it!!

Wow! Yeah! Groovy Baby! Totally diggin your scene.
Wow, just thinking about playing some Yo Lo Tengo and Voila! Must be on Bill's wavelength today - spooky.
not greatness, but easy on the ears...maybe even pretty good?
Another winner from these guys
The break reminds me of Beck's work in Odelay. Perhaps this song is an homage to the Beckmeister.

Groovy!  This song is doing it for me on a rainy Friday.
Nice!!
Has the vibe of one those cheesy psychedelic "Wild in the Streets" soundtracks. I like it though.
Just got this. Like it so far.

His voice sounds like John Linnell of TMBG.

Why do I want to her M. Knopfler's "Coyote" next? {#Cowboy}

Though I'm a big YLT fan from way way back, their last few kinda left me cold. But I think this one is gonna bring me back in. Everything I've heard so far I've liked. They are a fearless, incredibly talented band who will try anything and succeed more often than not. Plus, they just seem like really nice folks.
"I got it! I got it!"
 {#Bananajam} me singing loud and nobody's complaining, Yo La Tengo
Happy Blue Moonesque New Year Bill, Rebecca and RP listeners
I've never been really big on Yo La Tengo, but this is charming: funky in a laid-back way, with just enough screech and quirk. Nice.
Nice.
delightful.

excellent! {#Boohoo}

thru the LRC in a flash!
