She keeps feeling for the blindfold
She keeps wishing for the secret society to fall
She keeps watching for the jaguar
With a silver trembling hand
Dagger, night, fight, tomorrow
She forgets about the fear

When she's high, when she's high, when she's high, when she's high

She puts diamonds on her forehead
They remind her how the animals and trees and insects call
Is it wrong not to believe
Nature makes us all complete
Dagger, night, fight, tomorrow
She forgets about the fear

When she's high, when she's high, when she's high, when she's high

So glad my daughter turned me on to this band.

They are not really famous in Germany, and (even I...) do not really know much of their music.

I don't really care for this album, but their others are fantastic. Also, if you have the chance to see these guys live, do so.
Saw them cover Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. Amazing performers!
{#Dancingbanana}  love hearing the lips!
Love it!  Went to the Jodrell Bank show, which was the most immense gig I've been to.  Love the Lips!  Be good to hear something from Hit To Death In The Future Head tho!

Agree-gree-gree...{#Lol}
Ziggytrix, I am glad you said that!  I am VERY guilty of doing this - feeling compelled to "correct" people about who "came first."

Who came first?  The primordial ooze came first.  Whew, so glad THAT'S settled... =o)

Can't someone just comment that two things sound similar without accusing one of taking something from the other?

Personally, I don't hear this as sounding all that similar to Perry Farrell's vocals at all.  There is a vaguely similar vocal reverb effect, but adding effects to vocals wasn't invented by either of these bands. *shrug*  Maybe I'm just not thinking of the right JA song.

I think you should be accusing Perry of sounding like Wayne...

Gets a solid 7 from me!

Their album covers are always engaging, and apparently their music isn't for everyone.  Well, those folks will always have their classic rock to listen to.

Agree on both counts. And for me, "interesting" = "meh" so it averages out to a 5.
Groovy.

The instrumentals remind me of The Moody Blues, but I'd prefer their vocalist :oP.
please no more

This song (and band for that matter) really suck ass. Bill, time to take FL off the play list! lol
Had to walk downstairs to my computer and rate this "sucko barfo" - very appropriate rating level when I hear this kind of crap . . . er, I mean, when I don't appreciate someone else's taste in music (forgot I was Canadian there for a moment).

Normally I hate the FL, but his voice isn't so annoying in this one. Maybe it's the fact that his voice is so affected as to be almost unrecognizable...{#Ask}

Remind me of The Sparks.

I agree 100%.  Pounding, thumping, bass driven genius!  Saw them do this live in November last year and did much wigging out like a nutter!Turn it up to 11!

What the ell is going on in that album art?!?!
Nice!!
Absolutely love it. It was worth to try :)
And another CD to buy.

Interesting article on these guys in current SPIN mag.  I never knew this but one time they released an album that had four CD's, and you had to play them all simultaneously on four different CD players.  Now that is saying "FU" to your record label, gotta love it.

Zaireeka is that album.

You need at least four ____(plural noun)____ and ____(a place)____ to enjoy it properly.*

plural noun suggestions:
1. boomboxes
2. cars with loud stereos
3. club soundsystems

place suggestion:
1. a deserted level of a parking deck
2. an open field in the middle of nowhere
3. an empty warehouse

* this is only a recommendation
All I see is Wayne running in place on the giant half circle screen behind him, the sun going down behind us
First time listening. I guess I'll have to come back on this. Didn't want to mute. But I don't know how to listen to it. Strange and puzzling.
Epic sounds and hooks.
Super heavy rotation of this #$%^&*( of (*&^

What would remain if you removed the reverb ?
I don't know what to make of this one.....{#Stupid}

Run like hell to mute it.

Actually, I can't say I like this, but it has moments.

Have heard much better from these guys.

Maybe this needs to be really loud to be good?
Sooo good to have the boys back into their downright odd future-punk selves. Although Sparklehorse Danger Mouse is still counted among the out-there, no, way out-there mashers with the possibly the best name in rock. My 2 cents.
Saw them on the Later Show, they were much better as on this tune!
Had to walk over to mute this...
I haven't made up my mind on the album yet.  But this song is way cool!

Bah.  You have no taste.

edit:  I take that back.  Looking at your ratings you don't like anything less than about two decades old.

I recommend the entire double album. Loud, wall of sound, Lips. There is so much about this Oklahoma City band that is fun and inspiring. They lead a parade down the streets of downtown Oklahoma City each Halloween called the "March of 1000 Skeletons." Greatness.
Neato, keeno.  Different.  Interesting comments, too.
wow..........cool...... {#Puke}
The Flaming Lips continue to impress me.  Impossible to NOT listen to them.  The most interesting production on their tunes...

Very cool song and album.
Gotta love the Lips!
You can never predict what they will come up with next.

...pretty staggering music, actually...

That album just scratches the surface of the awesome bizareness that is the Lips. There's a free stream of their documentary at VEOH. Check it out. I just love how lead bizarro Wayne Coyne comes off as such a genuinely nice guy — who likes to mow his lawn.

...i definitely need to pick up this CD...

Welcome back freaky, unsettling Flaming Lips!!  Not that I haven't liked your output of recent years, but it was starting to feel like you'd worked all of the LSD out of your system, and twee indie Muzak was all that remained...
Viva la relapse!
...i couldn't hear it very well in the background while working, but from what i did hear, this is kind of cool...
nice segue into The Cure.

FLAMING WHAT...?

Is that politically incorrect?

Like it; odd CD cover is definitely thought provoking. . .

I normally don't like these guys but this is a great tune.
