She moves like she don't care
Smooth as silk, cool as air
Ooh it makes you wanna cry
She doesn't know your name
And your heart beats like a subway train
Ooh it makes you wanna die

Ooh, don't you wanna take her?
Wanna make her all your own?

Maria, you've gotta see her
Go insane and out of your mind
Latina, Ave Maria
A million and one candle lights

I've seen this thing before
In my best friend and the boy next door
Fool for love and full of fire
Won't come in from the rain
She's oceans running down the drain
Blue as ice and desire

Don't you wanna make her?
Ooh, don't you wanna take her home?

Maria, you've gotta see her
Go insane and out of your mind
Latina, Ave Maria
A million and one candle lights

Ooh, don't you wanna break her?
Ooh, don't you wanna take her home?

She walks like she don't care
Walkin' on imported air
Ooh, it makes you wanna die

Maria, you've gotta see her
Go insane and out of your mind
Latina, Ave Maria
A million and one candle lights

Maria, you've gotta see her
Go insane and out of your mind
Latina, Ave Maria
A million and one candle lights

My 13 year old self was so in love with Blondie, hell my 55 year old self still loves her.

I have a memory of finding an old copy of Forum magazine (that small Readers Digest sized book) in my parents bedroom and it had a featured interview with Debbie Harry on the topic of sexuality.  Once she was a mainstream sex icon, but now she's almost 80.  Not a comment about her but just makes me dwell on how time marches on relentlessly and we all get old. :(

Kinda sad reflecting on this being the last Blondie song to get any significant chart success, and that was almost 25 years ago.  That kind of underscores how long ago the "Rapture" and "Heart of Glass" years were.

It's a LOT harder for an old band to get new work noticed. The Stones new album (Hackney Diamonds) came out in the last two weeks. How much notice is it getting? The "last Beatle song" called Now and Then comes out in two days. It's getting some notice but nothing like what Free As a Bird got in the mid 90s.

Me too - except I was a girl in the 2010s. XD Debbie was always both my biggest inspiration (okay, tied with Stevie Nicks), and my biggest crush.

Loved seeing her and her friends at MSG not performing but watching Pro Wrestling  :)
Great hook.

BillG - more, deeper cuts just like this one please

Funny, it appears that this hit #1 in the UK.  I don't recall hearing it much.  Maybe only a "deep cut" on this side of the pond?
ABBA
Gosh, as of checking today...Debbie is 76 years on this rock...how the years fly by...
This is catchy, but also cheesy. Give me Heart of Glass anytime. I still gave it a 6 because I don't mind it. May raise it to 7 because now I find myself singing along.

Blondie rox! Getting old sucks. Debbie is just a year younger than me. Live forever bombshell!

10 years older than me! ...yep, getting old sux!!!
GREAT TUNE!
A solid  9.

I guess we know where Concrete Blonde came from...

Solid tune.
This really showcases just how strong her voice was.

Love it. The slightly off key glockenspiel is perfect. Creates just the right tension.

Saw Blondie a while back at an outdoor venue on a pier in Baltimore. Debbie's voice and stage presence were superb.

Definitely the best song of Blondie at all!

For us GenXer's I would have to agree. For the rest of the world maybe not.
I'm totally biased, in awe and grateful for Blondie, thus giving this a 9 🌟
Wow this seems of another caliber than most Blondie. She actually sounds a little like Patti Smith here. Maybe it's just that it's not one that's been played to death.
Oh my giddy giddy goodness!!!!  A perfect Harry song...one that I rarely here.  Gawd I love the woman!!!
As much as I LOVE DH & Blondie I have not heard this. I am very happy to make its aquantance. Thanks
5 at best

I wouldn't go nearly that far but it's pretty cool.
