She's like a little bird
She flies from A to B
To see what she can see
She's far away from me
We danced on the moon
We danced by the sea
That land of blue gold
Is where we were free

Julie-lie-lie
Julie-lie-lie
Julie-lie-lie
Where we were free
Where we were free

The shiny blackest crow
Flew in to say hello
Though much to her surprise
He had two mouths for eyes
She understood his words
That crow was very pleased
He gave to her his wings
And now she is free

Julie-lie-lie
Julie-lie-lie
Julie-lie-lie
Now we are free
Now we are free

Julie-lie-lie
Julie-lie-lie
Julie-lie-lie

Louder than
Louder than they know
Don't let them store in your skin
Don't let them lie on and then, run
You let me down
Get on the way
You let us down in here
You let us down, drowned in here
Hidden: a lie, within.

Oh how I love her so. What composition.
I wonder if Andy Partridge or Paul McCartney know of this. Surely Andy must.

Nice ending!
This song has a repeating low bass beat that sounds like a cell phone on vibrate sitting on a table. I found myself continually checking to see if someone was calling me
Love when I hear a great song and then look it up on YouTube and find out that their live performance of that song is absolutely amazing.  Incredible instrumentation and attention to detail.
Alisons vocals. Will and his musicians mastery of psychedelia. Listen to this with high quality headphones or speakers to truly discern the layering and mix. Beautiful. Such craftsmanship well done. It does indeed take us to another plane.
this is frapping brilliant

Agreed, the lead up . . . outstanding!

She is a restless experimenter, yet she always retains her distinct persona. Great stuff on this album, but Goldfrapp's last two albums have been even more interesting to me.
The BBC Live of this is very good
Alison! See my post of June 4, 2016!

I fear my desire is all for naught :(
just perfect
Alison!!! Marry me!!!
Oooh yes, I'm quite liking this dreamy, soaring track today... {#Hearteyes}
"How does it feel to be one of the beautiful people?"........
enchanting
Some of her songs transport me to dreamy lands, mostly because of her voice. I wonder how much of that is just due to technology. All in all, greatly produced, pienso ... {#Undecided}

The photo is pure Goldie Napolean, the song is middle of her top ten for me.
Drums and bass very trippy Beatles-esque.
Before I even read the comments, I said to myself, "I hear the late 60's". This is interesting.

Interesting putting this after Lippy Kids ...

Can't wait for my next Acid trip while listening to RP *sigh*
Allison Goldfrapp's vocals give me shivers every time.

God knows the dosage was high enough to do the trick! {#Rolleyes}

Confusing... Somewhere I think this is wonderful, but on the other hand I feel I shouldn't like it, since it's not really the style of music I normally like. I think I'll have to listen a few times again, to see if it grows on me or not. Now a 7, maybe more later...

Great song. Dedicated to Andrew Branhagen. Rest In Peace youngman. A beautiful young life will be missed.

There is a live version that is superb!  Have a look at Pilots on YouTube by Goldfrapp . . . WOW

That's right.  I have always liked this from the first moment I heard it.  That part is pure dope.
Just saw them live - fabulousness
Love the build up and yah - "Dreamy Trippyness"

Dreamy trippyness.  That's a perfect description. I like this song, at this moment, because the sun has just set, the weather is gorgeous, the birds are still singing outside my window, all my cats are zonked out and snoring contentedly, and I'm done for the day. The music fits in nicely with my wind-down phase...{#Meditate}{#Sunny}

Love Goldfrapp too.  Does anyone else hear "Dear Prudence" in this besides me and Bill?

I didn't until you mentioned it...not sure if that is a blessing or a curse!  Every time I listen to Goldfrapp, it leaves me wondering why in the hell she is not more popular in this country.  Good stuff out of that one...

Love Goldfrapp too.  Does anyone else hear "Dear Prudence" in this besides me and Bill?

And it doesn't hurt that Alison Goldfrapp is sex on legs when you see her live - just oozes sensuality.

As also proven by her videos on YouTube.

Spot on about the Cocteau Twins comment.  The last bit of the song is very like them.  Absolutely love this song.
There's some real plundering going in here - the bastard child of the Beatles and the Cocteau Twins - but REALLY nicely put together.

Looks frighteningly like an Olsen twin on the cover of the album!
I agree, some parts of the song are very like the Cocteau Twins.

A good song.
Have not tired of this flightly tune and still loving the transition bits
About the album art: Goldie Hawn has held up well.  Looking hot.
Oh, and yeah, I thought this was Cocteau Twins, too.  Sort of etheral, I like it.

This is kinda silly in a good way.  I like it.

This song wears well.  I had it on in my car earlier and am glad to hear it again on RP.

I was joking about the look of the cover art, not the music. Why are you making a connection between the two and, worse, assuming that I am doing the same?

bindi wrote:

Also has some of that trippy sounding Beatles bass going on.

Is the photo Goldfrapp or Goldie (Hawn)?

Thanks to RP, Goldfrapp has successfully sold me their entire discography :D
Cool. I went from listening to Goldfrapp on iTunes to clicking on the RP stream and hearing it. I was confused for a second.

this is a band I never heard of before RP, I think it's great

I Love this cut! This disc is great. Thanks RP!
First time listening to this song, waiting for that trippy ending everyone talks about in this thread. ...Ah there it is, let those molecules embedded in my fat cells wash into my blood stream and take me back! oh WOW, such pretty lights! (pan to visual of middle aged ex hippie grabbing at thin air in a cubical somewhere deep in a windowless ill lit IT department, headphones on head, doe like stare focusing on nothing at all} - I think I can taste them! MMM! Glazed ham! I like this ride, so many paisly patterns. Please don't stop! I, I, I think I love you man! I covet your tasty center! Phew. Can't talk, coming down
Oooh, I likey!
mmm smoooth
niiiiiiiiiiiiice. this goes on the trippy mix :)
great album somuch muuuuuusic! :daisy:
I like the transition to the end game of this tune - cranberry-esque
Hoffner Bass as in Revolver sessions ? I like anyway :guitarist:
Very Cocteau Twins-like. I'd never have thought that this was the same brassy-voiced Alison Goldfrapp who recorded all those erotic songs on the previous album. From sexy to dreamy. Nice, though. 7 from the Nottingham jury.
Nice cover of the album. Not to be believed it is released quite recently...:)
