the police don't come
here on easy street
all the boys in their blue suits
are lying in the heat
you got no reaction
coming down my hall
you had no attraction
for anyone at all
all the dogs are out today
running in the sun
back in the litter
the morning never comes
you got no reaction
knocking on my door
you had no attraction
for anyone at all
the day goes at the factory
i should be happy look at me
it's definitely no easy street
you got no reaction
coming through my door
you had no attraction
for anyone at all
i can see you in the plastic town
that an actor sees
i can see you stuck inside of this cage with me
you'll cry like a baby
you cry like a bird
you cry like a lady
you cry like a girl
on easy street
you'll cry like a baby
you cry like a bird
you cry like a lady
you cry like a girl
on easy street

Good to hear, but I keep waiting for them to break into 'Love My Way' LOL!

Yeah, there is one identical musical phrase! Which came first? This might've been an earlier incarnation of the tune...then they changed it up. U2 has done that here and there...

"Forever Now" came out in 1982 - "Love My Way" was on "Mirror Moves" - 1984

For me those are the only two PF songs I care to hear, though the horn in this track is cool.

I'm not feeling a 1 for this, but it *definitely* is a virtual duplicate of "Love My Way" throughout much of the song. So close, it's acutally bugging me as I listen for the subtle differences.

It's like the karaoke machine played the wrong lyrics.

I hear that too!
The Furs, I can't believe it.  I haven't heard this in so long, my nose is twitching.  Bill
Thanks.
Man, if you lived through the eighties, and weren't part of the mainstream, this song was like an anthem.

Serious flashbacks. My nose is actually twitching....

Does anyone remember the extended dance version of, " Heartbeat?"

Mumumu my life , Mumumu my life, Mumumu my life of crime!
Can't believe this song has only got a 5.5 rating. One of my favourite blasts from the past - very atmospheric. Not a great fan of the Furs, but think this is a great song. Produced by my a great hero of mine - Todd Rundgren. I'll have to boost the ratings a little.

I've actually heard a few albums lately where a couple songs sound a lot alike.  Burial - Untrue and The Tough Alliance - A New Chance ("solid good times...") come to mind.  No Easy Street probably sounds better in context with the rest of the album.
Sounds like some ill-conceived "mash-up". They can do and have done a lot better. 4
Now this is why I listen to RP. Don't just play Pretty in Pink or Love My Way over and over and over. Excellent song for its time and it hold up fairly well.
sounds just like "Love My Way"
much better songs to choose from on this cd. forever now 9 president gas 8 yes i do 8 no easy street 6
Since this song appears on the same album as "Love My Way", one would have to assume that the resemblance is a deliberate artistic choice. Perhaps this makes sense in the context of the album; I can't say it's any less unsettling out of context, however.

I quadruple it. I'd much rather just hear "Love My Way" I love that song.
Love this one

Agreed. Apparently this band was a one hit wonder and this ain't it. I'm sorry but I have to give this a one. A one just because it sounds so much like Love My Way. Now I will never have the same appreciation for Love My Way. A one on general principal.

Love My Ways....
It is a fine song! and a decent album. . . .
I really like the Furs...President GAS rocks

Keep expecting "love my way" to be the next thing he sings...ok, here it is...ok...now!

I thought that too. The verse tune is virtually indistinguishable from LMW. Guess he knew he had something good
Yoink! This is a different mix than I am used to -- and I'm not sure I like it very much... Neil
