I love you
You know I do
Yeah, it's perfect
Well, it isn't and it is

And I've been meaning to call you
I've been meaning to call you
Then I do

I've been meaning to call you
I've been meaning to call you
Then I do

Phone rings once
Phone rings twice
Phone rings three times

I, I am of you
And you are in everything I do
I do

I trust you
That makes you true
I don't care if
It isn't the way it is

I've been meaning to call you
I've been meaning to call you
Then I do

Phone rings once
Phone rings twice
Phone rings three times

I, I am of you
And you are always in view
Yeah, I, I am my will
And you are in everything I do
I do, I do, I do

In the Day Eraser's dark of night
In the Excited States, gone in plain sight
Under the wave or by cavelight
I lose, things change, but never in your eyes

I, I am of you
And you are always in view
And I, I am my will
And you are in everything I do

Sad. Such a great song by a band with a spotlight singer which few can equal. All Hip songs should be played at least more than once a decade

Going to see them tomorrow here in Rochester. I can't wait. The set lists for recent shows have been amazing.
That's because the set lists are mostly made up of songs from their earlier albums, when they produced great music.
The safe, happy product of a once great band. Now the Tragically R.I.P. (tragically)

Erm, just a cheesy joke on the name...
Clearly my countryman has some post-colonial blues. Pay him no mind.

Definitely not horse poo. And I like it. Good and poppy!
Am I the only one that hears INXS in this?

I love to hop too, but that dam Chatchy always made me stop. Joanie would have been with me if she met me first.
Thanks for the giggle, rrowdies!

They did "Like A Rolling Stone" when they played Ottawa in February. Pretty damn spectacular. Wasn't sure what to think of this song at first, it's pretty slick and polished for the Hip. But I've really grown to like it!

Looks like they took a page from BNL, had to do a double take just to make sure. It is hockey playoffs time, so fitting to have some tunes from the Great White North...

I love ihop ...
Decent song, but it sounds like they ripped off the melody from the the goofy cast band that used to be on Saturday Night Live where they all dressed up like dorks in matching clothes (Horatio Sanz, Tracy Morgan, Jimmy Fallon, et al.) You'll never hear this song the same again! HHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!
another absolutely groovy tune from the TH! Got a good beat AND you can dance to it!

This one hit here in Motown a while ago and I still "crank it" whenever I hear it. The Hip is still good for one or two standouts per effort in the last few years. Great live band!! Thanks Bill! On_The_Beach wrote:
I agree that CanCon is a nightmare (Gawd, do we really need to hear another April-friggin'-Wine song?!) but I have a pretty high tolerance for the Hip, and the new song is a somewhat poppy change of pace. Not vintage hard-rockin' Hip, but catchy as hell.

...so makes it all the better that Bill plays our CanCon so willingly. I would gladly do without so much Bruce Cockburn on RP, but that's due to person reasons and not musical merit.

Hate to say it but the Hip officially suck now
suck it.
Looking at the comments history, it seems that this song is getting a lot of airplay here. And I thought it was just overplayed on the radio!
Its not road apples... but I like it
I think that ol' Gord stood too close to Alec Ounsworth at Sasquatch; this sounds a LOT like Clap Your Hands Say Yeah; but its still good. . .

Then why say it?

Yes more HIP!!!
I've got Ahead by a Century and Long Time Coming doing well on the LRC so hopefully more will follow. I quite enjoy this tune. The little riff is very reminiscent of River-era Springsteen, IMHO. TJ
Not bad! -glad to see the Hip back in action :D
Yes more HIP!!!

congrats, good one!
I saw them in Chicago on New Year's Eve, and they were tragic indeed. The lead singer's voice is passable on CD, but he sounded like a cat caught in a wringer washer live. Great guitar players, though.
My first added song!

This is one of my boyfriend's favorite songs at the moment so I guess I shouldn't say anything bad about it.

ummmm why?
This is easily the poppiest song off of their new disc, "World Container" (not necessarily indicative of the rest of the album, which contains some harder rocking songs like "The Lonely End of the Rink" and "Yer Not the Ocean."). It may the fluffiest confection they've done since some of the stuff on "Phantom Power." By the way, "World Container" is very solid--I ordered it when it was released in Canada back in October and am really enjoying it.
Really cool to see the HIp getting airplay. RP has good taste a lot of the time.

Hmmm... Intro sounded a bit pop-ish. Too early to rate, but sounds somewhat promising. Simple but clever album art.
Intro had me thinking SONIC YOUTH but newp - coitainly NOT. I'll give it an ine ;-D
Hate to say it but the Hip officially suck now
Good to hear them light it up again ... the Hip will always have a following in Canada ... regardless of the stuff they produce isnt (IMO) the same quality of there older stuff from Road Apples for example. This song seems to re-capture the old band and how they could make my foot tap when listening to them
Hmmm... Intro sounded a bit pop-ish. I could do without Schroeder's tiny piano in there. Too early to rate, but sounds somewhat promising. Simple but clever album art.
