Good or bad
The way that things did turn out
I did only make you sad
And we cried and we cried
On the phone
Oh but in my mind
You were never that all alone
Oh you were majesty
Your roads were heavy
And your longing was cut from bone
So am I
Am I good or bad
Could only awake your anger
I could only make you mad
Now was that how you showed me
That you were still so young and bold
Anyway those fights did drive me
And I was dying of thirst and I wasn't growin' old
Oh you were majesty
Your ropes were heavy
And your roads were very cold
Oh, oh, oh majesty
But in my mind
I could still climb inside your bed
And I could be victorious
Still the only man to pass to the glorious arch of your head, o-oh
Oh you were majesty
Your ropes were heavy
And your cheeks were very red
Oh you were majesty
And it's like I said
That spirit, is now dead
Oh, oh, oh Majesty
Only on RP.

This has been a 10 since I first heard it almost 15 years ago here on RP...
We still miss you Robert Burås...
So is your spelling, good sir

And why does this bring to mind Gord Downie?

Young and bald

Yes! 9 > 10 for the uplifting comment from jsd52756, more live sets like this Bill.
Same here :-)
You might be right, but I still like T-bone steak.
I'm firing up the BBQ when I get home tonight!! This song is great, and knowing that the band is back together makes me hope they visit the Seattle area soon (and/or I hope I haven't recently missed them like I missed Bill Idol and Steve Stevens recently :-( )
Long Live RP!!
I think I finally figured it out!
”It’s just that you’re insane”.
or
”It’s just that you were insane”.
You might be right, but I still like T-bone steak.
It's just a t-bone steak!
Man those lyrics grab my stomach each time.

Man those lyrics grab my stomach each time.

Both songs have pretty traditional chord progressions, though this one is about fifteen years older.

Ditto! One of these days, I'm gonna tweet Sivert and untangle this riddle!

Edit: January 1st 2019 and still hoping.
Edit #2: Jan. 1st 2021 and I'm going with Stephenater's comment that "It's just that you're insane" is the long elusive lyric.

Thanks Bill & Madrugada for helping me out when I needed it most.

Wow, that is a powerful connection! They call it Radio Paradise for a reason!
Live, Love and stay Wild my friend!
Thank you for sharing!

Thank you, RP, for introducing me to Sivert Hoyem's voice.
Majestic...
Ditto for me too! A year ago the name Sivert Hoyem was just a name to me; now I know who he is and where he came from...not to mention having learned a new Spanish word :-) Long Live RP!! And PEACE to all earthlings!!!
I hear "it's just a T-bird sing"

??
I'll wager on "it's just what Sivert said."
Agreed. Great version of a wonderful song. Thanks, RP!
You're not alone. Just reached over and turned the dial up.
So, IOW... stay tuned?

exactly !
Scandanavia rules!

Majestic...
Agreed, this is fragile, vulnerable and incredibly layered. This takes an already amazing song, to the next level...10!
No consensus that I can agree with, but you're making me hungry

My vote is still "it's just what you would say", but I'm not convinced...

Thanks RP again for something so penetrating and felt. Never would have found this band / artist without you.
Nice segue into Joe Jackson too!!
An audience of fans'll do that for ya.
Exactly. Given the lyrics this makes even more sense.
So am I good or bad
The way that things did turn out
I did only make you sad
And we cried and we cried on the phone
Oh but in my mind
You were never that all alone
Oh you were majesty
Your robes were heavy
And your longing was a cutting from bone
So am I, am I good or bad
Could only awake your anger
I could only make you mad
Now was that how you showed me
That you were still so young and bold
Anyway, those fights did drive me
And I was dying of thirst and I wasn't growing old

Oh oh oh majesty, oh
But in my mind
I could still climb inside your bed
And I could be victorious
Still the only man
To pass through the glorious arch of your head, oh
Oh you were majesty
Your robes were heavy
And your treats were very red
Oh you were majesty
Now it's like I said
That spirit, it's now dead
Oh oh oh majesty, oh
Thanks for posting this, it further reinforces my love of this version of this wonderful song. Only found on RP!

Thanks for the chuckle.
To speculate, Bill and Rebecca could be closet admirers of the Nordic social democracies. They could be plotting to fundamentally change the good ol' USA through subversive music playing. Vigilance is probably called for.
Someone commented on the studio version of this song that this live version has too much feeling, even anger ... this is precisely why I like it so much. Music is about feelings.
Exactly. Given the lyrics this makes even more sense.

Through the solo, it sounds like the same chord progression as Comfortably Numb.

Happy Thanksgiving from the high desert.

some tasty guitar going on here

It's just a T-bone steak?
I get it now.
It's just what Sivert said.
