WOW I was surprised to see this was Eric Burdon . I saw  ERIC BIBB PLAY THIS AT WOODFORD FESTIVAL IN THE GOLD COAST (2003) AND EVEN BOUGT THE CD! Great song anyway!! (apologies for caps unitentional lol ....

There's a great story about his mother in the liner notes for one of the Grateful Dead's Europe '72 shows.  She wandered backstage and was met by one of the entourage.  She was wondering if anyone there had met her son.  It turned out that they all had.  The woman who had first seen her there ended up spending the evening with her watching the concert.

He put on one of the best concerts I've ever seen (and I've seen hundreds) but apparently it's a crapshoot. He was notorious for coming on stage sloppy drunk and obnoxious. I caught him on a (very) good night in a small venue in the late 70's.
