I was at this carnival just a few years ago.
No big deal, Ferris wheel, the same old stuff you know.
I and wandered around the grounds until I found this little tent
A man outside made a speech, and this is how it went:

She smiled a smile the whole world could see.
Then she turned her head, and she looked straight at me.
I must have jumped at least six feet in the air,
And when I come down, that girl wasn't there.

And out come this dude with curly read hair
He had a big bushy beard, he was built like a bear.
He said you stop all your shouting, there's no more to the show

Really like this song. Never heard it before... I'm a big Tragically Hipp fan and this reminds me of a live version of New Orleans is Sinking.

I once saw him with Commander Cody. It was a great time. Both bands where great fun.

David Bromberg opening for The New Riders of the Purple Sage was the first concert I ever went to .....in 1976 at the Jersey shore..Asbury Park. It was awesome.

Heard an interview with Bromberg last Saturday afternoon on my local public radio station. Great insight into his career and music in general. I wish I had a link to share with you. It was a fascinating discussion.

this guy sings some great folk and blues, doesn't he? a friend just gave me a bunch of his stuff. he has the most "knowing" voice, I love it.
Saw David recently, what a great performer. He really knows how to work a crowd. Played this, and some nice lady did a bit of a belly dance throughout the aisles of the arena...quite fun.

Love Bromberg! I saw Bromberg, Hartford, and a handful of otheres at the Philly Folk Fest ~72. The only instruments they used were their hands. If you closed your eyes you'd swear there was a horn section on stage. One of a kind.

There are many, many reasons I love listening to Radio Paradise. Alas, this is not one of them.
Okay - this really deserves to be followed by a Warren Zevon song, and maybe a John Prine song, or Loudon Wainright III, or Frank Zappa... I'm totally loving this. 
As a pre-MTV kid, I couldn't get the picture of actor Bruce Dern delivering these lyrics out of my head.

David Bromberg - great guitarist with completely nutty tastes - to me, that made him even more interesting. Others may have been hard pressed to make sense out of him. Wish I still had my old LPs of his....

I read that he is in the antique violin business. The version of Sharon on 'You Should See the Rest of the Band' is live and really excellent guitar work. He makes the guitar talk, really talk. The cover is a Gahan Wilson piece of art.
I don't think I'd say this is exactly 'representative' of what David Bromberg does, either, though he always seemed 'quirky' to me, and this fits that. He is also an excellent guitarist with the ability to play a very wide array of styles.
