''You broke my heart
'Cause I couldn't dance
You didn't even want me around
And now I'm back to let you know
I can really shake 'em down''

Do you love me? (I can really move)
Do you love me? (I'm in the groove)
Now do you love me (Do you love me?)
Now that I can dance? (Dance)

Watch me now (Work, work)
Oh, work it out, baby (Work, work)
Well, you're drivin' me crazy (Work, work)
With a little bit of soul now (Work)

I can mash potato (I can mash potato)
And do the twist (I can do the twist)
Now tell me, baby (Tell me, baby)
Do you like it like this? (Do you like it like this?)
Tell me (Tell me)
Tell me

Do you love me? (Do you love me?)
Now do you love me? (Do you love me?)
Now do you love me (Do you love me?)
Now that I can dance? (Dance)
Dance

Watch me now (Work, work)
Oh, shake it up, shake it (Work, work)
Oh, shake 'em, shake 'em down (Work, work)
Oh, little bit of soul now (Work)

(Work, work)
Oh, shake it, shake it, baby (Work, work)
Oh, you're driving me crazy (Work, work)
Oh, don't get lazy (Work)

I can mash potato (I can mash potato)
Do the twist (I can do the twist)
Well, now tell me, baby (Tell me, baby)
Do you like it like this? (Do you like it like this?)
Tell me (Tell me)

Oh, do you love me? (Do you love me?)
Now do you love me? (Do you love me?)
Now do you love me? (Do you love me?)

I'm assuming you know that Twist and Shout was not penned by L-M but rather by Medley-Russell. It was an earlier hit by The Isley Brothers. The Beatles version (while the definitive one) is a cover.
Reckon Medley & Russell must have listened to this a few times before they wrote "Twist & Shout".
Great tune. Wish I had a better quality rip of it to contribute... this one is lo-fi.
TESÃO!!!!!!!!
Yeah. Dirty Dancing just makes it even better. BTW, is that Eddie Murphy on the cover?
I can seperate this from Dirty Dancing, and honestly, it rocks. (But I can still see all those dancers shaking their hips. )

That is so funny! We have used that expression in our family since the movie to mean we said something stupid and regrettable, especially when meeting someone for the first time. "I met him at the reception." "oh really, how'd it go?" "I carried a watermelon."
That's great! May have to steal that one :)
Classic!
Scary images of that dude with the feather haircut dirty dancin around with that whiney chick with the big nose...please dont play this again!

Whoa, Dirty Dancing flashback!
We have lots of DD flashbacks in Germany. Dirty Dancing is STILL popular here. I don't think it ever stopped being popular. You still hear this song in the discos. There are entire nights devoted to Dirty Dancing in the clubs all the time, and this year a musical theatre adaptation of DD opened in Cologne. It's been a huge hit. The worst is when "Time of my Life" is played randomly in a disco. Then all the Germans get on the dancefloor and do this lame honky dance.

I can do the twist, but I have no idea how to mashed potato. Someone want to teach me? Maybe then you'll love me.
Would be hard to do when we're not in the same room, so here you go... the dance begins by stepping backward with one foot with that heel tilted inward. The foot is positioned slightly behind the other (stationary) foot. With the weight on the ball of the starting foot, the heel is then swiveled outward. The same process is repeated with the other foot: step back and behind with heel inward, pivot heel out, and so on. The pattern is continued for as many repetitions as desired. Maybe I'll bust this out at the concert I'm going to tonight
I can do the twist, but I have no idea how to mashed potato. Someone want to teach me? Maybe then you'll love me.
"Nobody puts Baby in a corner."
are you seriously playing this song? good lord.
Didn't the Dave Clark Five do this song?
He never really does hit that note, does he?
