This voice, is it calling?
Is it calling...

"It's your choice," she said. "Take or let go."
Is it calling?
When you're all alone, in your own sweet home.
Is it calling?

This voice.
Is it calling?

I have to say, I choose get out of my way.
Leave my ghosts alone.
Let me walk on by.
Let me walk on by.
Let me walk on by.
Let me walk on by.

This voice, it is calling.
It is calling for me.
If you still haven't heard it,
you shouldn't ask for it.
You should just leave it be.

'Cause you're deaf until
the day for you it will
be calling.

This voice
It is calling...

I love RP, so I hesitate to comment, but the cycling images are really cheesy, and more often than not have nothing to do with the song.

I'm with you. I'd much rather see the album cover but can't find a way to revert to that setting.
I'm gonna have to hear this a few more times before I have an opinion.. didn't not like it ....
The fabulous Scandinavian trio who I had not known of until hearing on RP. Thank you, RP.

Ane Brun - Norway
Anna Ternheim - Sweden
Agnes Obel - Denmark

Less pitchy than Beth Orton though.
On my peersonal top ten. Can't get enough of her!

Not pitchy like Beth Orton.
+1 for the tuba :o)

Interesting comparison. I get it.
This song gets better after a few listens.
I found her music on Qobuz while searching for high-res records. Great artist but the record quality is even breathtaking.
never heard the maggies do that before
Norwegian Beth Orton.

so reminiscent in voice of a very young melanie if joni mitchell wrote the lyrics. so excellent to find a station that honors the music of gifted women.
This stopped me in my tracks. IMHO I think she has an amazing voice.............

Dear Bill,
Thank you for adding the PSD button.
It's very useful from time to time.
I really like this track
voice reminds me of Martha Wainright
No ma'am that voice is squawking .
Just saw her at the Largo in L.A. last night. The night before she was at the Hollywood Bowl with Peter Gabriel. She was perfect and very nice to us all. In person her voice is perfect. There were only about 60 of us and she took the time to thank us all and sign for us. She is as sweet and sincere as they come. I wish all could see her sing, it is a treat I would do it again in a heart beat.

Frankly, I met this singer Ane Brun through Radio Paradise. And I liked the work. Now we have to admit that this type of singers, are long forgotten in attendance with running here, compared to other artists "easier" and "fads" running all the time.

Sometimes listeners are led to think that good music "is saved" here, and serves to "Puch" to other music and bands of the second plan, or artists who are starting up."

Another great Norwegian singer -
sounds a little like that Enya tune...

Nice use of a tuba to fill in the bottom rather than a bass guitar. I once saw Leon Redbone, who played an acoustic guitar, and who was accompanied by—a tuba player! The tubist (sp?) was given a chance to solo. His selection? Flight of the bumblebee.

Nice call on the tuba. I didn't really key in on that until reading your comment. Creative, but song didn't do much for me.

I love this album... Mine has a different cover though?
"Little Lights" is my absolute favorite... and one of my favorite songs of the last few years, and her duet with Ron Sexsmith "Song Number 6" is an amazing song first time I heard it on a CMJ sampler, I thought  1. Ane was Black 2. that she was doing a Billie Holiday rip.

edit  Mine is a very early import edition. Tragically  "Little Lights" was moved to the Duets album... but you can check it out on Youtube.

Totally mesmerising melodic riff - plus a voice to die for.
Why did I pass over the chance to see her live earlier this year?

without words!…. only to hear-

This is great stuff. A solid 8.
Love the tuba and the triangle. Not so much the vocals or the flat melody. Bought this album based om my absolute love of her song on the Koop album, but I was sadly dissapointed. I couldn't even make it through the obligatory three listenings before giving up. I found it very flat and boring, not very dynamic. She still gets points for her vocal on Koop Island Blues though...
Amazing !!! concert the last 1st of April in Trondheim. Bravo
Yesterday we heard the Puzzle from her and now this tune. Keep it up, it's beginning to grow on me.

really like the instruments in this song. beautiful voice, nothing ordinary about it
This album is truly magnificent. As for this song, I'd mix it with some Tanya Donelly.
Love the tuba!

Anyone hear this whole CD? Good?
I certainly think so, as is "Spending Time With Morgan".
double E flat Sousaphone most likely. Very nice. European rotary valves, etc. Nope, I misspoke just like Nixon used to do all the time. Upright Kohn Silver Bell Tuba, E flat tuned; piston valves. Zebe Mann and Red Callender -- the Maestro's memories live again! Yes, Tubalicious indeed.
Tubalicious.
Nothing like a bit of variety, nice track.
Diggin the Drums, Tuba, and triangle...8
Delightful gem of a song.

Thank you! And thanks RP for this honey-voiced, er, honey.

Interesting sound!
How beautiful this voice!

Sort of a female Elliot Smith then? I like....
Songs like this make RP a delectable treat; less filling too!

Shades of Grace Slick....

Very nice, very fresh sound. I agree with the comment about breaking with the "female singer and guitar" format.

I agree with the niec Tuba usage, but no bonus points for me. Tuba is too subdued to really have an effect on me liking the song.
Not sure what I think about this one yet, but that was a classic seamless RP segue from Porcupine Tree - Stars Die.
A great clockenspiel, too.
Now segue to Michelle Shocked's The Secret to a Long Life is Knowing When It's Time to Go.
OK, she gets points for very cool Tuba usage. rockin!
No, I quite like it - female singer/songwriter with euphonium and triangle makes a nice change from the usual female singer/songwriter with guitar combo.
C'mon Bill....this is just plain awful.
i nearly thought this was sinead o'connor at first.
