Father John in the driveway
comes here to bless me
My Father in the morning
will bend to hear me
Some clear joy is coming on some slowest train
I am hearing it coming again

Flowerless in the country
birdless in the spring
my man and I are weeping
we have been weeping
Some clear joy is coming on some slowest trains
Do you hear that it s coming again

8 tracks and 40 minutes of ho-hum or below. Looks like a doldrum period for RP, at least for my tastes. Time to make a tea and hope that some clear joy is coming when I unmute again. This one is close to putting me under {#Sleep}

Fred - not every song can be three minutes of driving blind at a hundred mph.  Just close your eyes and sleep to this if it makes you feel better (naps are our friend!)  Personally, The Innocence Mission is perfect for me on days like today, when it's hot and muggy and overcast and I don't have to work. I'll take a "doldrum" over a "bounce-off-the-walls-until-you-die," any day...{#Daisy}

Yummy.

When I need some mellow, this is the most perfect song... I love Innocence Mission. So dreamy, ethereal and perfect.{#Sunny}
Lovely voice! Interesting to note the relaxed music radio paradise plays during US night time.... you can hear when the US wakes up and the music changes :)

Sweet.  Love her voice.

Definitely. Can't listen to her every day, but the voice touches me deep inside.

I may have said this before, but Karen Peris and The Innocence Mission have been around much longer than the Sundays. And to another comment about hypnotic-trippy-spacey music, Karen and Don are devout Catholics and serious musicians, and although their music is indeed hypnotic, I don't think 'trippy' is their muse!

The first few notes remind me of something by Hugo Largo.

I would have sworn it was the singer from the Sundays, but apparently not. Separated at birth, maybe?

exactly why i don't like it.

I'm liking this song. Nice and dreamy. {#Good-vibes} I really ought to look more into The Innocence Mission. I always have liked "Bright As Yellow"...

beautiful!
Love this hypnotic spacey & trippy music. Its the perfect background music for graphic design. :-)
Clear Joy coming, you say? Hmmm...yes sir, that sounds mighty fine. Mighty fine indeed.
Ohhhhhhh....ah think a feel like bustin loose to this...mm...hmm.. Just like mamma used to make.
Not that you weren't already on the top of the list... but playing IM has solidified you on my list of the greatest things, Bill. :)
oh yes!
Reminds me of Hugo Largo.

Wow. Its a rainy Monday morning somewhere when I hear her voice... despite that, I lOVE it! 9.
Always tricks me into thinking I am listening to Hugo Largo esp. Jungle Jim from Mettle. Something about that guitar hook...

This has been a sweet 4 song set -- nice job, Bill! I won't paste it in here to prevent the haters from posting their usual comments. (e.g. "Hey, it's the same set again today! How dare you, Bill!" etc. etc. etc.)
If we're talking about the same set, I agree! Let's see if I can use code to communicate: are the previous two songs by Crushed Halloween Melons and Fiery Mouth Flesh?

My thoughts exactly, the first part is almost identical to the Bee Gees' song!

Eek its her again
Some Clear Joy Is Coming Love it!
As much as I have liked this kind of thing from other groups such as Mazzy Star, I find this vocalist too fragile in a horror movie kind of way. She's like the cursed baby doll that sings while floating in the air and staring icily into your soul. Creepy.

Big fan of Innocence Mission's music - but save your money on seeing them live. Saw them in Sacramento a few years ago and they had very little presence.
That's a shame.I was looking forward to seeing them.I'll still do it when they are back in the states.
At first I thought it was a Nick Drake's song.

You sing like you have a collapsed lung.
