I think someone pushed her into that fire (after hearing her sing this song). And while we're on the subject of fire, she can't hold a candle to Lucinda W.
very very bad.
...s'funny 'cause for me it's just like a Walk Throught the Fire and Filth with Mary! ... n'what's more, I think I am a better person for the journey! So thanks for that! ...

Is that a Taylor guitar on the cover art?
I believe it is...it looks lovely. Quite a sharp contrast to the sound of this song to my ears, however. Guh. 2.

I don't know, it sounds pretty damn haunting to me. It's intentionally slow. I think it works. The pain of solitude really comes through here.
HORRIBLE.
Am I the only person who thinks that there was a covedr of this on Buffy, the Vampire Slayer? The words are right...
I keep tapping my foot faster to make her speed up and it's not working....
Thought it was an old Neil Young song. By then, it sounded like someone was singing a slowed-down cover of a rock n roll song I should have known...but it wasn't any of these! Which made me like it more. Keep on, RP!
Leonard Cohen's younger sister, I assume.
glad to have seen you perform in Letterkenny. love your musical passion

I agree with you except I think Lucinda is MORE annoying....
It sounds like the drummer is straining to make it to the next beat. I wish he'd just give up.

Y'all remember that ancient Shake & Bake commercial, with the little blonde girl that would belt out "And I halped!" in a horrific southern accent at the end? Yeah, I was reminded of that commercial.
TRUDGINGLY.....

I was certain that this was Lucinda Williams, till I looked at the screen. I liked it anyway.
THAT caught my attention and perked my ears up, too. Love Lucinda, and Mary sounds tremendously like her. Have you heard Lucinda's tune 'Righteously' from her World Without Tears disc? God, that's a hot tune, with some of the most sinister, tortured slide guitar licks.
Downers are acceptable..it's her horrid VOICE that grates on me...arghh!

I like Lucinda Williams and wondered what the hell happened to her, then saw it was someone else and breathed a sigh of relief.

That voice drives me crazy... and not in a happy, good way.
