Darling, what you gonna do now
Now that you noticed
It all went wrong
I've been, I've been thinking
That you don't know me anymore

Don't let the sun be the one
To change you baby
I wanna learn how to lie
If I'm to know
Cos I wanna go where the people go
Cos I'm forever lost

Darling, what you gonna say now
Now that you noticed
It all went wrong
Looks like I'm driving
My friends all crazy
They say that they don't know me anymore

Don't let the sun be the one
To change you baby
I wanna learn how to lie
If I'm to know
Cos I wanna go where the people go
Cos I'm forever lost
Oh yeah I'm forever lost

Looks like it all went wrong
Looks like it all went wrong
Looks like it all went wrong
Looks like it all went wrong
What am I to do
What am I to do

Don't let the sun be the one
To change you baby
I wanna learn how to lie
If I'm to know
Cos I wanna go where the people go
Cos I'm forever lost
Oh yeah I'm forever lost

Darling what you gonna do now
Now that you noticed

A fine, tight, little pop tune. It's hard as hell to write one, I've tried. There's rules laid down by the immortals, like Phil Spector, and these guys had the sense to follow them, at least, A little whiffy, but.. it's lively and you can dance to it and I'm giving it a 6, Mr. Clark.
Oh c'mon. They may not look that great but look at the effort it must have took to create this recording.

Could they do it live at your local chicken shack/bait shop/motel?Probably not.

I wouldn't want to hear it every day,but c'mon. Geez.

Creepy. And I KNOW I hear a girl in there. Where is she?

I think she's on bass.
This song would be better if it was shorter... like 10 seconds (max).

Impressive!  Around a month after you made that comment, only 4 more people have rated this song.  The impressive thing is that out of those 4 people, 8 of them rated it a 10.  Good job!

Same here. Time to mute.

There are far too many negative "reviews" in the last few comments, so I had to bring in a positive one.

I love the change in tone and interplay of the male and female voices. Great stuff.
Upgraded from a 3 —> 5.  Somehow it sounds better following The Violent Femmes...  {#Stupid}
Shinyhappy music - Plain White Tees meet Jimmy Eat World, mixed with a dollop of Nena (99 Red Balloons). Oh, and let's not forget the profound lyrics, reminiscent of R.E.M. on a really bad day.

Sorry - not liking this song much. Then again, I'm in a Rhea's Obsession mood, so prolly not much would thrill me, except "20th Century Man" (I keep thinking this would fit nicely after Pink Floyd's "Free Four.")

Shutting up now.

"Middle-of-the-road"

...to forget!
This is stupid.

Too many trips to the fish and chips shop?

Fish and Chips

Every time I hear this song, I think it's Barenaked Ladies.

Sure. If it's good bubble gum, I won't complain.

I'm not too fond of these guys, but I think that the girls adding the beards on the cover is awesome.  I would think that maybe they are somewhat sensitive about looking to masculine, but they play it up.  Pretty Cool and Funny.
is this the Monkeys with some physical alterations?

I saw them a few years ago when they warmed up for Bright Eyes (along with Feist) in Louisville.  I actually thought that they were really good.  I bought their CD.  Not all of the songs are great, but I really like this one.
Saw them on that Jools Holland show from the UK — they were awful.  They sound clean and simple on the record.  They sounded untalented and unprofessional on the show.  {#Frown}

Maybe they're related, though their sound is quite different.
Gosh, I haven't thought about Lothar & The Hand People in some time, probably for good reasons.

Yeah, when I hear this in isolation, I totally think that. When I listen to the album, I don't. Interesting.

I love this tune.  The dude's voice is just the right side of plaintive...

Cool website!
In yet more proof that Zack Braff is somewhere in RP-land, I was watching last season's Scrubs DVD (OK, the last season on DVD, the one before the one that just finished this spring) and this song was featured prominently...
the intro guitar riff reminds me of 'touch too much' by AC/DC...now, some AC/DC would be nice
Great tune with a sexy voice in the melody. Quite fitting that the dudes look like primates and sound like The Monkies.
Yikes, these guys look like Lothar and a few of the Hand People.

Saw them open for Rufus Wainwright here in Boston. Quite the treat on -stage. Took me by surprise- was ready to throw them in with the usual drivel that opens major acts but they were great.
Cute!
Yeah, but take away Maine and you have...a pile of blocks. sutcliff wrote:

Sort of?
has anyone noticed that the "filled in" blocks on the cover emulate the shape of the USA?

Who have been described by snippy Brit critics as all looking like Hagrid from the Harry Potter movies. (yeah, all of 'em) Pure pop perfection. I'm bumping this one to a 9.

Thanks Bill, again you have helped me discover some good music, and once again, I will end up buying the CD or MP3 because of it. RP ROCKS!

Fun! Yow!
jangle on, baby!
A friend gave me this album; it's a pretty fun one. Not amazing, earth shattering, but pretty good. There's another song on there that I like even more, and I'll have to upload (can't remember the name right now).

This was at the end of the most recent episode of Scrubs. Does Zach Braff listen to RP? The songs they play on the Scrubs I have usually heard played on RP first.
I swear he has to, or he and Bill are getting supplied by the same person... after Garden State, I started paying attention on Scrubs and started to notice even more overlap. Maybe whoever's in charge of music for Scrubs is here, and he's been tipping Zach off... But there's gotta be something going on...

Nope. Though I am a musician who doesn't get any RP airplay, I still insist that this song doesn't really bring it all the way because the vox are a bit atonal. I still like it a lot though, more every time I hear it. Nice stab at intertube psychoanalysis, though.
This is not an opera... IMHO there is no objective criteria for rating voices in rock- or popmusic.

Nitpicking. You sound like you've taken years and years of vocal training and are just bitter that you haven't gathered even a wink of success -- yet, here these kids are, getting regular RP airplay. Am I close?

A solid pop song that always makes me tap my toes or drum on the desk. Me likey.
