Foolish
Makes no sense to me
Wasteful
Where fear breeds deceit
Bullets screaming
from out of nowhere
And tanks roam the streets

It steals you away...only denied
It steals you away...from being alive

Grazed
Calling out our names
Bleeding hearts
that feel no shame
Take the burden
lay down the blame
The situation's changed

It steals you away...only denied
It steals you away...from being alive

It steals you away...only denied
It steals you away...only denied
It steals you away...only denied
It steals you away...only denied

It steals you away...

It steals you away...only denied...

I wonder why this song is rated so low. This is right up most RPer's allies! Or so I thought. ***For those of us cool enough to actually like this song***, the full album is great as well. There are some stunning moments.
*** Pffft.

My tuppence: the audience discerns well in this case.

(Alleys.)
Ok, where’s the rest of Hybrids better tracks...?!
This is terrible ....

Might as well be the same band...anoying prog-rock if you ask me...
except it's not guitar driven prog-rock at all https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hybrid_%28producers%29 they have much more in common with Massive Attack or even VAST than with PT.
tweedle dee boo doo zap crap
A hybrid in need of more gas, less corn.

Not bad..., but don't they mimic Porcupine Tree a bit...?

This song has fantastic atmosphere.
...very cool!..
In the middle of the work you get thrown out of concentration, 'cause the intro of this song catches you from the first second... Nice one!!

Who is this? Another band I have never heard of that I instantly like. What an awesome intro and buildup, those phased/flanged notes are a great hook. Good name, Hybrid. Skillful blending of electronic and acoustic sounds. Vocals are a bit weak until the end, but that could be my crappy earbuds here at work... They still get a 9... play more!
This comment gets an encore. Huzzah! Well said.

Sorry, sounds like generic prog-rock at this time... Maybe other songs will prove me wrong.

This would segue nicely into Tears for Fears' Sowing The Seeds of Love...
yep, I thought that too... Hybrid: "You like the car, your'll love the music..."

The jangly acoustic guitar part and drums remind me a lot of Thomas Newman's Still dead, from the American Beauty soundtrack.

Agreed. This is intriguing. I can't help but envision Firefly when listening to this. Worth a bookmark. 2Hawks wrote:

Where'd that electronic riff in the background come from? I think it's from a Delerium song, but I can't remember which one.
I assure you Hybrid composed it themselves. Brilliant musicians and performers.. had the pleasure of doing a few FM radio interviews with them over the years. Talented, fun and very personable.

Check out Finished Symphony. That is a tune...!
Catchy...made me stop and take a look.
Cover art & jam are intriguing - I gave them both an 8. But, then too,I am a fan of ECHOES & WORLD CAFE.
Actually , I don't really like the cover art...
does this guy's voice remind anyone else of anathema? ...maybe it's just me
Kind of on the overly slick side for me. But yeah, nice cover art. :)
Hybrid is one of those rare groups that manages to make great music both in the studio and on stage (even in a non-dance space like the Fine Line in Minneapolis), not to mention their great mastery on the decks when they're DJing. I guess the thing that gets me the most is their ability to intelligently combine orchestra (a Russian ensemble on Morning Sci-Fi) and electronics. It's not just simple synth samples goin on there!
The cover's much better than the rather generic-sounding song. Not much originality here. Second listen: it sounds like an overly long introduction to a song that never comes.
Does anyone else get the feeling this song was written for Seal? Not that there's anything wrong with that. I like the phaser sound that comes in part way into the song. I agree...very cool cover art.

Yeah, rather nice. Similar to Nitin Sawhney's album covers. As for the song, not too bad at all. Be interested in hearing a couple more tracks from the album. Piqued my curiosity
I really like the cover art.
