Back in the old days, tight like a fight
Used to hang with the devil in the broad daylight
We had a route, a walkabout
Until we had a row, a kind of falling out
He showed me the low, showed me the down
Called it the happy low down
We used to rock some tunes with a guy named Lloyd
Lloyd still got them polaroid's

Broad daylight
Broad daylight

Stop climaxing , you got your fight
Leaving him alone in the broad daylight
He might get it on, on his own and start building a throne
Out of worn out razors
Look at you shaking you can't find his plight
Got you scared of ghosts in the dead of night
While you're making up stories trying to make it ok
He'll be bringing them in to let them out and play
In the broad daylight

Broad daylight
Leaving me alone in the broad daylight
In the broad daylight
Broad daylight
In the broad day
Please don't leave me alone
Leaving me alone in the broad daylight

You'll get your money, you'll get your night
Just leave me alone up (in the broad daylight)
I need some shit of my own, i need a throne
Not them razors
And who you think you are screaming hollywood burn?
If you really want to stop it then burn your sperm
'cause this here be going on until its not and then a little more

Broad daylight
Leaving me alone in the broad daylight
In the broad daylight
Broad daylight, in the broad day
Please don't leave me alone
Leaving me alone in the broad daylight

In the broad daylight
In the broad daylight
In the broad daylight
In the broad daylight
Broad daylight
In the broad day

Please don't leave me alone
Leaving me alone in the broad daylight

Ha!  Now I get it.  Who needs Sir Richard Attenborough when there's RP?

Fun!
The album Ghostboy was produced by Jo Bogaert, the procuder of Technotronic, known from its New Beat hit Pump Up the Jam. The song became a worldwide success, eventually reaching No. 2 on both the US and the UK Singles Chart in late 1989 and early 1990.
Was there a version from Michelle Shocked of this one?
What rich texture both of the harmonies and the rhythms woven together to create this. I started our not linking the repetitive intro but then got hooked.
I see we found the kids from Aldous Hardings "Imagining My Man".  Interesting that this song was removed from RP during most of the 2010s but is back again.
If you know what this is, you're hearing it too now...
Different. Wouldn't choose it myself.
I like it! {#Music}

From groovin down to the temptations straight into swinging with this hep cat.
Gee, is this 5 years old already?
It seems like I've only heard it, oh I don't know, the whole past summer, and the summer before, and before, and before, and before, and before.

This is quite good, but I could do without it for a while.

I just thought my Skype was going off...i guess that's good.

Lol, I really love the comments here.

FYI, Gabriel Rios was born in Puerto Rico, after his studies he moved to Ghent, Belgium to live with his girlfriend. Since then he works in Belgium and he's really big overhere.

Why would Brazilian pop get any greater coverage in PR than anywhere else?  Different languages, amigo...

I am guessing he got it from that source as he is from Puerto Rico originally, where maybe they would have heard Brazillian pop ? :-)

They're what make this song so catchy and cute, IMO. 7 from the Nottingham jury, and without the kidz it would be just 4.
Catchy.
Pretty cool, sounds like he's been listening to a lot of Manu Chao

I think the common denominator is that Gabriel and Bob are both Caribbean natives.
Kinda like a stoned Jason Mraz sitting in with a hotel lobby jazz bar and 5th grade field trip. Sounds like a pan, but it's actually quite likeable. Cool even.
smart and cool!
NEXT, PLEASE!
I love the kids' voices... sounds like a great jump rope song...
WOW - just me, or was that an abrupt (but cool) transition from Marley's Rat Race?
There was a young fellow from Ghent Whose ........damn, I forgot the rest

Love the beat and rhythm!
...what a great tune...ATE!...
Gabriel Rios has a new album "Angelhead". It's a great album, I think. I love especially the simular named song.
This song is so weird . . . but I love it
Please...lose the ducks!

I borrowed the album form the wife of a friend. My friend and I agree, it's crap. And we tend to insist heavyly to upset his wife Broad Daylight is the only song that is rather good (an 8 for me). I've seen once a live performance of this song, witch was very good.
great departure from today's accepted sounds! different but commericial. kudos. everythingdavid

Love 'em! A little overused at the end, but they add something very cool to the atmosphere and rhythm of the song.

haha, karate i like the song, it's bouncy. the kids are a little annoying, but they make the song what it is!

Burn your sperm??? Now there's a catchy phrase.

Mine too! I love the Ghostboy tune, heard that one awhile ago and became hooked right away. Can't seem to find a place to purchase his CD though. Amazon only has it as an import for over $37. Hope it becomes available for a more reasonable price somewhere soon!

If only it were possible to find a way to get this album, in the North Americas that is.
How can you not smile and dance to this song?
Something about the children singing the background vocals makes this a very irritating song to me. Shouldn't they be in school and not making records?
Isn't the loop in the background from an old NES or computer game or something. I vaguely remember something to do with spaceships or something that had that exact same loop in it. This is going to bug the crap out of me now.

I used to carry around a distaste for the disquiet of noisy children -- be they merry or otherwise. Don't know what changed it in me. Maybe it was grandchildren. Well, whatever. I like the simple beat -- and especially the cheerful sound of the kiddie chorus.
